I don't even know what mission he is talking about. The only mission that was any trouble at all was the one with the fucking RC planes.
Real early on. You steal a limo to kidnap...Madd Dogg, I think is who it is, and if it's damaged during the drive over to 'pick him up', you have to go across town to a pay n' spray to get it fixed.
Also, you're on a time limit.
And limos are big fucking targets for asshole AI.
...Hmm...Idea. Why not use the 'no peds' code? Also removes most traffic.
If there is a limo mission, that isn't it. You're supposed to kidnap Madd Dogg's manager, which requires hijacking one of his guards' car. I don't know what model it is, but it isn't a limo. And you have to travel like two blocks to your destination, with pretty light traffic.
Yeah, just beat it. I got the details wrong, but still. Getting there once you have the car is fucking annoying.
I got it and made it to the limo mission and had a friend do it. She cruised right through it. I swore like ANYTHING, reloaded the save and tried it myself.
I get to the first intersection and I SWEAR TO YOU two cars ram into me from both sides and the car I'm in explodes, killing me. What the fuck ever.
Anyway, I had no problem with the RC missions at all. I can't remember which ones I played tho, San Andreas ones or if there were ones in Vice City.
As for the graphic difference, I thought the Xbox one looks markedly better, the city isn't as grimey and the edges are much sharper. And that horrible orange glow is gone. However, every so often the engine drops all the textures and details so you suddenly find yourself walking around a city made of grey and beige blocks. It's really weird but only lasts 2 seconds at most. Loading times are about 50% quicker too. And for some reason my Driving skill is going up much faster then in the PS2 but my Stamina isn't.

O_o The RC missions are well into the second or third city. The 'don't let your car touch ANYTHING, not even the goddamn road because it might have a pebble on it or some fucking shit' mission is partway into the very beginning. Either you played someone else's copy, or it was Vice City or something.

Yeah, it was Vice City, a mission for the Texan businessman. I remember you had to fly the RC plane and drop bombs into trash cans in a construction site.
But does the Xbox version support widescreen? As far as I can recall the PS2 version did not.
Yes, it does. I don't know if that gets complicated by the 360, however.
The PS2's "widescreen mode" basically squeezed the picture so it was very vertically stretched, on a 4:3 TV. I don't know if it actually cut out a part of the picture to achieve that.

I've seen that as a general problem with most games that support both 4:3 and 16:9. Usually on widescreen displays, a little from the top and bottom of the screen is cut and a little is added to the sides. I've even seen a game or two where it actually distorted the world slightly (things like aiming would be more difficult because the target wasn't actually where the game displayed it to be).
Ultimately, the best way to check is if there is a circle displayed (as in a map or health meter). If it looks more like an oval, then there is no or poor support. If it's rounded, then...support.
I suppose I should have clarified that I meant the oXbox version of SA.
If you have enough to lose a few times, you can make silly money at roulette.
You could always make money the easier way and bet all your money on the horse that is least likely to win at the races. If you lose, you can just reload.
I don't even own the game and I got past that part.
Wow, you win MOSTEST HELPFULLL.
The "auto repair" cheat doesn't actually work for that mission. You still have to go to a pay and spray.
I've tried the damn thing so many times I see it when I close my eyes. I never fuck up in it either, it's always some fucker who just comes barreling into me out of nowhere. I broke two controllers over that mission.
Word of advice: never do the Zero missions. Ever. At all.
Just walk away.
I was going to say, if some mission I don't even remember anymore is enough to plague you for three years, then the one thing you should never do is attempt "Supply Lines."

Not a bad way necessarily, but the OTB locations are only on the Los Santos island and there are no save points in convienient locations. It is the way that I do it, especially after collecting all of the horseshoes, but it should be said that it's not convenient. The Four Dragons casino is easier to do despite the longer odds for success.

Whats the largest amount of enemy jets you fella's have shot downin one go?
8 for my jet
4 for the hustler.
I also remember doing the fake chips level the first time and being close to tears with frustration. 2nd time round was a little better.
3rd time round i drove back to home base and grabbed the hunter and bombarded the entire fucking thing to bits. I parked it in a conjoining parking area. there was one guy left in the building, killed him, destroyed the machines, killed the other dudes then ran back...

I used the save point at that crazy bitch's shack and drove to the OTB in the nearby small town. It was like a 1 minute drive. I was stacking mad cash and rolling fat caps in no time.
How come no one with the PC version seems to be able to pass any of the flying missions then?
I don't know what you're referring to, I've passed everything but the Zero missions, and only because fuck Zero's missions. I gold'd all of the license tests, even those fucking motorcycle tests.
When the PC version came out, the thread was packed with people saying "THESE FLYING MISSIONS ARE BULLSHIT". I wouldn't want to play GTA with a keyboard and mouse.
Also FUCK the burn and lap and FUCK pretty much all of the motorcycle tests.

Oh, see, I used a gamepad. That's probably why.
Also, burn and lap was pretty easy on the PC, what with the decent frame rate and view distance. It was tough on the PS2 because that fucking trolley came out of nowhere sometimes.

I used an actual joystick for the Zero missions, which is probably the reason why I never understood why people complained about them so much.
I don't even know what mission he is talking about. The only mission that was any trouble at all was the one with the fucking RC planes.
I honestly eventually decided that this mission was just impossible... I simply run out of gas, and no matter how perfectly I executed everything.... I just ran out of gas. I used guides, I tried hitching rides on cars, I tried EVERYTHING.... And I fly real RC planes

Wait, burn and lap was that small oval course. Yeah, that still sucks on the PC. I was thinking of the final car mission where you tear down the streets of San Fierro. That mission is easier, not burn and lap.

I wish I hadn't spent money on the Cheap-O Depot PS2 lookalike USB controller in GameStop. It was way too wonky to attempt to use with the PC version. And yeah, fuck GTA with mouse + keyboard.

I never buy pc controllers, the only good ones are the stupidly expensive ones.
Why bother when you can get a cheap £10 usb adapter for a playstation, n64, xbox (and so forth) and then buy yourself one of the console controllers. It works out a lot cheaper and frankly I prefer them.
I've got a dual adapter that you can plug an N64 controller and a Playstation (PS2 dualshock currently) upto it. It rocks my world and is fantastic for games like GTA on the pc.
By the way, yes.. I mentioned the best version of GTA being for the pc earlier.

I've got a spare copy of Portal, if anyone wants it message me.
I believe there is one in Montgomery (probably the wrong town. It's the one north of Los Santos that doesn't have a save point. You rob it with Catalina.) There is also one in Los Santos. I think it's slightly north of the tallest building in the city directly under the freeway overpass. For some unknown reason there is no OTB machines in Las Venturas or anywhere else. Just these two.
Unfortunately the little disc it comes with doesn't work in a trayless drive and the drivers are not on the internet.

I prefered the xbox controls for GTA3 and VC mainly because it was so much easier to do a drive by by just using the right thumbstick and then clicking it shoot.
Also, it is possible to listen to custom soundtracks on Xbox1 games on the 360. However the media player is disable once the game is loaded so you have no control over what you listen to. First load up your soundtrack in the dashboard, then play your game. You music will play over everything else in the game.

I just play music on my stereo and turn the radio of in options.
I have the PC version of San Andreas, and I can't seem to get the game to recognize the right thumbstick for manual aiming and camera control. Is there some kind of console fix or something for this sorta of thing? I love moving around with the xbox pad, but I'm too spoiled by mouse aim/camera to just give it up.

Well sure if you're a little bitch.
The PC version is the bestest, like all GTA games.

Well, that's great and all, but he's asking about PS2/Xbox.
For me, it's PS2. It boils down to controller preference, really. And I love pretty much every radio station in this game.
This doesn't change the fact that he's not talking about the PC version. He's asking between two versions. PlayStation 2. Xbox. A PC is neither.
I honestly eventually decided that this mission was just impossible... I simply run out of gas, and no matter how perfectly I executed everything.... I just ran out of gas. I used guides, I tried hitching rides on cars, I tried EVERYTHING.... And I fly real RC planes
