Please forgive my lack of a quality OP, I'm too lazy to pull up screenshots. Boogie, a combination of singing and dancing with the Wii remote, is out for the Wii today, and I was thinking of picking it up, if only for the included headset. Anyone picked this up yet, or planning to? I really hope I get to do the typewriter dance.

I just... I want to know if it's a good game before I get it. Plus, Mario Strikers is in the lead for next Wii purchase.

I am...sort of interested? If it's basically Karaoke Revolution it will probably be fun, but just like the Wii DDR game, waggle may get old.

The songlist seems nice and varied. Lots I hate, but lots I wouldn't mind. Daft Punk is cool.

Yeah, I'm a bit luke-warm on it, but the headset would be nice if they plan on using it for future online titles. I'm a bit 'meh' on the music selection, but that same problem didn't stop me from enjoying EBA, so who knows?

I'm in the same boat really, I just want to learn more about the game, and if it would be worth it. Otherwise I'll just wait for Prime 3. Two weeks. Two weeks away. 14 days.

I enjoy the "drum beat" game in Rayman Raving Rabbids. At times it's a bit sensitive, but it's very fun. That's why I'd consider Boogie.

So, what's the deal with this game? I thought it was just a rhythm game that used the Wii remote to dance. I didn't know you had to sing?

I know Nintendo has been advertising the hell out if it without really explaining the game. I'm not sure what to think of that...

Don't get me wrong, I love rhythm/music games and actually like karaoke, but I don't understand why there's hype on this game. Isn't this just karaoke with a new coat of paint? Aside from actually registering "dancing" what else does it do?

There's not really hype on this game. Pretty much everyone who saw it at E3 gave it a pretty big "meh."

Nice track list, though. I wonder if the Canned Heat level will be as stupidly hard as it was on Elite Beat Agents.

If it's anything like Karaoke Revolution, it'll be able to judge your pitch as you sing and grade you on how well you hit the notes. That's what makes it a game in the vein of DDR or something.

It offers the dancing control over just simply singing like in Karaoke Revolution.

It has a neat art style compared to the typical "generic guy dancing on a stage" from similar games.

It's the first game of its kind on the Wii. I don't know if I'm getting it, but I expect it'll be popular.

From some things I've read, it does seem that the 'dancing' is a bit watered down. Casual, so to speak. Most of the previews said it was pretty fun, but a bit too shallow. Things might have changed in a month, though. Another draw is the ability to edit your own music videos, but I haven't seen anything to indicate that you'd be able to share them online. That's probably a good thing, as my rendition of 'U Can't Touch This' could possibly bring down all of the internets.

I guess I just don't see the fun in this.

My girlfriend picked up Singstar awhile ago, thinking it would be a good party game. We played around with it once and it was the most boring "party game" I've ever played. Granted, I'm not really a fan of "party games" to begin with but it seems to me that Guitar Hero, Wii Sports, and even DDR are more fun in the party setting...

Anyway, I originally thought this was a dance game that used the Wii Remote for moves and combos, etc... That actually sounded pretty cool.

I think it's funny that the commercials I've seen for the game seem to have played down the singing aspect. Notably, the "Best Week Ever" commercials only show people dancing with the remote...
