I was wondering if anyone has had the chance to use the "XCM XFPS 360" keyboard/mouse adapter for the 360. Supposedly it only works when used with a wired Xbox 360 controller, and does not work with any wireless keyboard or mouse. Somehow it claims to work as an adapter for the PS2.
I know that a USB keyboard can be used directly with the 360, but up until now, I wasn't aware of any option to use a mouse. Its not cheap, but I hope its effective for something like Halo 3.
According to most reviews it isn't worth the money. Translating the movement of the sticks into mouse movement never worked well in the past. Remember the first, OBox version? I believe it was released when Halo 2 came out. There was an outcry in this forum too - how K&M players would outperform people using the controller. After lackluster reviews the attention died down.
First of all the mouse movement is to sluggish, according to reviews you have a huge deadzone (small movements won't trigger any reaction). It doesn't even work with all the mouse models. Its better to save the money for something else. Maybe the PS2 controller function is worth looking into. (But IMO the XBox 360 controller is already pretty good, or even better).
Thanks everyone for the replies and link to review.
Anyone have any word on an alternative to this, or any rumors of Microsoft looking into adding any kind of mouse support?
I'm not looking for the "pinpoint advantage" or whatever its called, I just find playing a FPS game extremely difficult on the 360 despite practicing quite a bit.

The trouble with reality is that there's no background music.
I don't get why they don't add it, it would be simple to make 3 categories of server (KBAM only, Controller only and mixed) so it wouldn't impact MP, Single player it would really not be hard to balance, just remove any/all autoaim.
They have the hardware, and as long as all games support controller and devs have the option to include mouse support I don't see how anyone looses out...

Bottom line for me is...
If MS adds keyboard and mouse support I'll rebuy my 360 on the spot.
Sucked the cock for Guitar Hero controllers. didn't work properly at all.
