So I was watching Firefly on my PS2 because my 360 will not play DVD movies in a resolution my HD Samsung tv understands. While watching some whores defend their house of sin I kept hearing click sounds that came in pairs. At first I thought it was the sound Jayne or that redheaded whore cockin back rounds but realized it was coming from my PS2. Coudnt pin point it but its obviously the DVD drive.
I've had the PS2 since the release of the 50001s which it is one of and never really given much love even though I at one point had about 30 games for it some how. Anywho my question is this a known PS2 failure sign or just something I discovered? Also I have seen some 60GB PS3s at the exchange on base and wondered if I should upgrade to that if need be but then again why?
I don't think I have ever seen a launch PS2 that has seen decent use and not developed some hardware problems, be it noises, DREs or drive motor going bust.
I would either keep using it as it is, and get a slimline PS2 when the (inevitable) price drop happens, or decide to get a PS3, depending on what you want/can afford.
pffft yeah I don't think so Pheezer. I know how you operate.
Now if the drive is clicking like it is do I risk damaging my disks in there? Will the drive just stop working or will it start scratching up everything in order to go out with a bang?

Also, I love Firefly too, but God the gaming community is a cliché
CUZ THERE'S SOMETHING IN THE MIDDLE AND IT'S GIVING ME A RASH

Unless you plan on trading it or selling it to somebody don't worry about it and run it into the ground if you don't need a PS3 any time soon.
