The Silent Partners
Some exhibitors have business cards...I think.

Red vs Blue vs Decorum
Those dudes will be there...

Good call! I saw those, but I did not draw the comparison to the Supertrips.

One of my favourite strips, which is also one I'm having trouble finding, took place before one of the PAXes (I think 2004?), before Gabe's son was born.
In the comic, Gabe and Kara are in a car, and Kara says something along the lines of "I hope I don't have the baby during PAX", Gabe says "Yeah, I'd hate to miss it", and after a beat, Kara asks "You mean, you'd hate to miss PAX, right?"

If that strip exists, the PennyPacker plugin has not tagged it with the words "baby" or "Kara". I just finished searching through all the news posts between the announcement of PAX (March 04) and PAX 04 (August 2004) and there was nothing close to the conversation you described.

    There was this: http://www.penny-arcade.com/2004/05/19

In other news, Kara and I found out that we are having a boy. I am actually going to have a son… wow, that feels so weird to say. Little Gabe will be making his way into the world some time around September 28th and I can't wait. I'm super excited to start teaching him how to pee and throw a football. We spent about an hour at the ultrasound place. I honestly don't know how doctors can tell what the fuck is going on by looking at that indecipherable video feed. She kept telling us the baby looked great and everything was normal. I stared at the black and white images with her trying to pick out the things she was showing us. Obviously I'm not a doctor but to me our baby bears a striking resemblance to hammerhead from Star Wars.

The more that I think about it, I think the exact words were "I hope I don't go into labor during PAX". Worst case scenario: we'll have to collaborate and collectively redraw the comic from memory.

I guarantee you this was an actual comic. One of my faves... now, can I find it?

I sorta remember the comic but I don't think they were going to PAX just some other con.
