I did dire maul far too often in a vain attempt to get the Quel'saar book
3 months of doing it 4 times a day before it dropped
There was no way any of us were going to pay the 3k for it (or 450g when it was being farmed by hackers}
The tribute run became a joke

I got my Warrior book while doing a random DM East run helping out a friend and it dropped off the Water Elemental boss and I was like "HOLY FUCK YES OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG YES YES YES!"
haha.
not the entire instance, mind you, but a number of things (trees, etc) were soloable.
So yeah, easy farming.
Supposedly locks can do several instances now as well, but I'm not up on which ones (I.e too lazy to try)
The thing is, as a warrior, we do so damned well with group buffs. Be it DPS or tanking. Pair a fury warrior with an enhancement shaman and/or a feral druid, and you'll see some ridiculous fucking damage that can go on indefinitely. I don't think I have to explain what happens when you stick a healer on an arms warrior, either.
Take that support away, however, and you have a sudden lack of awesome. They're easily the worst solo class in the game. They're nowhere near the worst DPS class, far from it, but no other class can have as much trouble consistently fighting mobs their own level or higher, and coming out of it relatively healthy.
My first character was a warrior. After I hit 60 and couldn't level anymore, I raised an undead shadow priest. The difference in soloing ability is, needless to say, daunting. Passive +10 to damage? +15% damage after a few hits? Chance to stun on every damage spell? Minus 15% to physical damage? Self healing for free when I do damage? Shield? Fear?! Holy fuck!
As a warrior....you have high stamina and good physical mitigation. When that isn't enough, well, have fun ghosting back.

I got mine from my first ever DM boss kill, too. Was helping a Paladin kill the tree boss for his epic mount quest, and got it. Hopped on an ony run later that day and got the sword. I was a Warrior in scattered valor and UBRS drops, and my beastly epic sword.

I used to be guilded with someone who dinged 60 by discovering Orgrimmar.
Dire Maul was so awesome. I liked the DM North and West the best.
You shut your dirty, dirty mouth whore.
weeks of 6 hours a day... 7 days a week.... endless runs. I got temp-banned so many times from instances for loading too many too quickly.
I'd go in, pop that dream pot, look for the book to spawn, nope, run to the next, pop a pot, check, nope, reset, repeat...
weeks
I just did it for a warlock's epic pony with a warlock and another paladin and my paladin
3 manning it was fun!
with a competent tank and healer, 3 manning west wasn't rough at all.
actually... you could 3 man all 3 wings that way.

345 runs
as a warrior, I weep at the mere concept.
haha.

When the exploit was there, I bought a Quel book for 100g on the neutral AH. Then the exploit was removed and they were selling for 2k.
