I think I might just be in for the long haul on this one. I love the art and Warren Ellis' writing tics didn't seem to be as strongly in evidence as they sometimes are.

Blog and mailing list both. I was seriously considering catching a flight up to Toronto just to see him. My love for Ellis transcends the flesh.

I love how he thinks - he just inundates himself in as much shit as he can, all the time, and just lets himself soak. And then he spits out wonderful goodness.

I live four hours away from Toronto, but I couldn't make it up there.

My comicbook loving friend couldn't either, so no signed issues of Transmet for Orikae.

The art is unbelievably radical.

And part of what I like about it is that so far, Jones doesn't seem to be as much "Ellis" as, say Snow or Spider is/was. He's still snarky and likeable, but not so much in the "I shit on my grandmother's face and drink nazi piss" kind of verbal way most of his other protaganists are.

He's hired to find it.

Just finished reading it - holy penis, this is awesome.

The expository bits read like his blog - of course, I wouldn't notice that if I didn't read his blog. It's funny though, being able to say "I remember when he found that".. he uses his blog as a short-term memory.

I the art. I the art to the extreme, and I really fucking want to find out about Jones.

Its called warren ellis spends too much time on the internet, and he does many of the same horrible things we do. Hell, he seems to hunt down more shock sites/pictures than I do.

People have been asking me how long the DESOLATION
JONES "miniseries" is. Seems to me there may have
been a PR hiccup somewhere between DC and the retail
sector.

JONES is NOT a miniseries. I do have an endpoint in
mind, but it's several years away. Like TRANSMET,
it's a longform book.
