Xenogears of Bore

I love every month or so when one of these lists pops up on the old intertrons. Yes, usually some of the dates are wrong, and every so often they have the wrong console, but still, these can be very telling.

If I wanted to really spike the reply number on this thread, I'd title it "Samba De Amigo" CONFIRMED on the Wii, but I can't stand those Sega types mucking up a good and pure Nintendo thread.

Also, I don't think Manhunt 2 will actually make that date. Still, I like how your list is bookended by the best games. A good amount of those I'd wait until they went on clearence.

Speaking about that, the price on Super Swing Golf keeps getting lower and lower. A few more months and it'll be $15 or less.

Well, at first I was only mentioning the oddities on the Gamestop list, like Manhunt and trauma Center and Super Swing.. then I started to realize that there's a lot of games that I'm interested in possibly getting coming out this year

That's why I just said, fuck it, I'll just make a list just to see how the next 4 months are going to look.


Of all those games I listed, not all of them am I definitely going to get. Some will depend heavily on reviews (manhunt, super swing, table tennis, soul cal, bowling,). But they definitely all have potential to be great, for me, if executed properly.

I would've added Tiger 08 on there, which comes out in Nov iirc, but.. I mean.. that's no surprise to anyone.

Yep: Donkey Kong Barrel Blast, coming in October , if that list is to be beleived.

It is actually a racing game in the vein of Mario Kart.


So.. it's not a rhythm game.. but it's not Donkey Kong Country 4 either. Looks fun, though. A good "play until Mario Kart Wii" comes out, possibly.

Oh, hey, Ghost Squad is going to be awesome. The arcade game is glorious. $50 may be kind of steep though (it's a light gun shooter). I wonder what they'll have in it besides the original arcade game?

No big deal. Nothing's stopping you or anyone else from getting Galaxy, Brawl, and Corruption this year, and putting off Bwii and FE until they're done with those three games.

Of course it hurts the Bwii/FE/etc. games in that they will probably lose initial release sales to the other games. And software's success is usually given more weight in its first month of sales.

That's the cool thing about Trauma Center, they can just crank that shit out like it was Mega Man. Only unlike Mega Man, it's still relatively fresh, and cheap to produce on a console. They just need a couple of new surgeries, a couple of new tools, some drawings, and a goofy story.

I wish Nintendo would innovate with release dates like they innovated with the Wii controller. I would probably by 10 of those games if they were spread out a bit more, but instead I'll probably get Galaxy and Brawl only. Along with Phantom Hourglass, and the possibility I'll still be playing Metroid Prime 3 (depending on how long and awesome it is), I will have time for nothing else. Damn.

I guess I could get a divorce and quit my job...

If Trauma Center: New Blood does indeed drop this fall, I will explode with pleasure.

Also, fascinatingly, it has Geometry Wars: Galaxies as only $40. I know a lot of people were irritated that they were charging "full price" for the game, so I assumed $50, but $40 for the expanded Wii title and DS connectivity would be an instabuy for me.

Haha, a Wii bargain bin, that's a good one. I remember thinking that about the GC, and then seeing games consistently not fall in price. I think I'll be hitting up Blockbuster a lot over the next four or five months to save moneys and to separate the diamonds from the coal.

Is it possible this time around to get all your gaming needs from a Wii? I remember people attempted it last gen with a gamecube but it seems much more likely this time around...

Unfortunately I've been kinda forced into that position because I traded in a 360 for a Wii.....I'm a weak man for some metroid/mario/smash.

I love my Wii, but at this point I'd say no. The only Wii games I'm buying this year are Metroid, Mario and Smash Bros., and they're all months apart. Compared to what we're seeing on 360 this holiday season it's just not enough. For me, at least.
