I've been perusing the forums as of late, and I have to ask if anyone here even has, like, *REMOTELY an interest in the PS3?
There are plenty of pages creaming over the Wii and 360, but the PS3 isn't getting much love.
I own only a PS3, and my roommate owns both a PS3 and 360, so i don't get to miss out on the good stuff hitting the 360, but where are all the *OTHER PS3 lovers out there?
What games are you looking forward to? What has you excited?
Personally, I'm pumped about a lot of stuff hitting the console, exclusive *AND multi-platform. There are so many titles hitting, starting with GRAW2 next Tuesday (and a major title nearly *EVERY WEEK after August 21), that I have no idea how I'm going to come up with the dough to buy it all.
Warhawk is looking great (i was in the Beta, and i *LOVED it. it went from a "meh" to a day one purchase, thanks to my seven days on the Beta)
Lair is looking great too, and I'd prefer to get my hands on it myself, as the only review that matters to me, is my *OWN. After EGM did their backpeddling, I think I'm just going to dismiss their review outright.
Heavenly Sword is a must have for me. I played it at E3 2006, then I got my hands on the demo, and the more I play the demo, the more I see that the battle system has more in common with, say, a Ninja Gaiden, than a God of War. That is to say, it's deeper and more complex than how it looks on the surface. Extended playtime with this title is a *MUST if you are to really get a feel for it.
other titles i can't wait for this year, are Stranglehold, Assassin's Creed, Haze, Unreal Tournament, Uncharted (i *REALLY can't wait for that one), Ratchet and Clank (ditto), and Folklore, which I'm afraid isn't going to get the kudos it deserves, due to the crowded holiday season.
There's a bunch more I can't think of right now, but *NEXT year is looking great too.
Infamous has me intrigued, as I *LOVED the Sly Cooper games, and obviously, Killzone 2, MGS4, and FFXIII are high on the list too. White Knight Story is looking *GREAT, and Level 5 hasn't disappointed me yet (they don't get enough credit for making excellent RPGs if you ask me).
Since this is a PS3 thread, I won't get into upcoming 360 games, because rest assured, the 360 has some titles I'm looking forward to as well, just not as much as the PS3 at this time.
I'm excited about the Game Developers Conference next week, and TGS in September (October?), as I'm looking forward to updates on previously announced titles, and announcements of all new ones.

There just isn't anything exclusive on it that really appeals to me.
They're just not as vocal, because they're probably playing games on it (or watching movies, mirite?)

It has NO "killer apps" right now or in the near future, only solid titles. But these alone don't sell a 600€ system to me.
In about 2 years, I'll think about getting a PS3. A Wii I will probably never buy.
I'm completely content with my 360 and will be throughout the future.
At the moment though, as a 360 owner, I have plenty of things coming up to keep me more than busy. And that doesn't even count Persona 3 for the PS2, and the 2 or 3 games I'll get for the Wii.
it kind of makes wanting to buy a new game just for its additional activities online attractive. I could be playing alone, but not really. There's always people online.
I dont feel like many people are online for the PS3. I feel like if i hooked up to the online world in PS3 it be decently barren.

Graw 2 is on a console I already have and it isn't that great anyway.
Heavenly Sword doesn't look good at all.
Lair is getting bad word of mouth.
FFXIII will draw in hardcore Final Fantasy people but I haven't seen enough of it to make a call. Square looks like they're trying to do something they aren't good at, but I can't tell.
Be really happy you have MGS4. It should guarantee that I rent your console once.
Those are the reasons I don't have one.
A] Buying it over a 360 (I have just a Wii, DS and PC right now) and
B] Even if/when I get a 360, paying what Sony are asking for the console.
Plus, I dislike how Sony have been acting in the run up and lifetime of the PS3. Although it's all academic as I am skint.

No picking on you Klyka, but I don't understand how anyone can only own one Next-Gen console. Each console offers something different from the other, so it's nice to have a change of pace.
My 360 is honestly collecting mountains of dust since I beat the Darkness. I played Bomberman for about 2 days then shut it off again. But I guess since I have a great gaming PC, I don't have a need to play my 360.
