Bawls?

So according to random post in BYOC thread, there will be no energy drinks sold at the convention. I figure this has something to do with some legal matter with the food vendors permanently present, but... seriously. No Bawls? At PAX? Someone tell me I'm wrong.

    I highly doubt that there will be no Bawls at PAX. That would be like having no crosses in or on a church.

    What the hell is going on? Talking to one of the enforces at the info desk, they said there are no Bawls for sale due to the convention center! WTF?!?!

    The convention center really sucks. They won't let Bawls themselves sell it, so they're selling it for $2.50. And I was so looking forward to finally trying SnoBawls... I'm so pissed. I was hella looking forward to drinking a ton of Bawls this weekend... From what I'd read about past PAX's, Bawls sold it for $1 a bottle.

    When I was paying for a bottle, I overheard a manager chewing out the ladies running the stand. She told them they shouldn't let people in line if all they are going to buy is a single bottle. Unfortunately, because of that, I will not be buying any more Bawls at PAX this year, whereas last year I spent over $40. This is something that definitely needs to be corrected next year. At the very least, there needs to be a dedicated Bawls booth, even if the food services people have to be given a cut of the proceeds.

    Unfortunately, most major convention and event centers (Qwest Field, etc) have an official food service vendor with whom they have a contract. Part of the contract prohibits third party vendors (any vendor other than than the Official Vendor) from selling food and beverages.

    Con: no BAWLS for cheap or giveaways.
    Pro: More space, great AC and HVAC (hardly any smelliness at all), overall solid facilities


    So next year they'll have to weigh all the pros and cons and figure out whether to come back or take PAX elsewhere.

    They gave out a TON of Bawls at the entry line for free (one per person). I also saw people wandering around with Bawls at points saying they got it free...

    All I know is almost everywhere I looked before startup I saw Enforcers moving cases of the stuff. It's there... it may not be as plentiful as last year... but it's there.

    Also... the free one I got in line was my first Bawls ever. Flavor was alright... not my fav, but by no means unappealing... and damn it packs a caffeine punch!

    I saw no pax booth and was immediatly distraught.

    Any chance we could buy some of those giant cases on floor 3 and /cough resell them for a dollar appeice?, or perhaps tote them outside to the street and sell them?

    I sorely miss BAWLS at PAX. No BAWLS booth is REALLY a travesty. I buy 2 cases from PAX anually =( it will be missed.
