What is the parking situation?

I've been to three previous PAX's when they were held in Bellevue and I never had a problem with parking either at the Mayden Bauer center, nor at the Hotel where the table games were. Please tell me that there is parking available at the Convention center or some lot close by. I live in Seattle, so there is no need to stay at the hotels.

    Check out the PaxMap.

Location and prices of all parking structures within a 8 block (about) radius of the convention center.

There is plenty of parking at the wsctc but i fear pax may fill that up.

At $24 a day (and closing at midnight) I doubt it will fill up.

hate to break it to you but nearly everything within walking distance (8 blocks, unless you really want to walk further) of the wsctc is over $20 a day.

    OMG /QUIT PAX

Yeah I'm paying $26 a day for parking at the Westin. Though there is apparently $15 a day parking right close by.

After 6 pm and all day Sunday it is free to park on the streets in downtown (anywhere you could normally pay by meter, anyways) - but be warned, parking is VERY hard to come by during that.

If you're staying in a hotel its going to be a lot cheaper to take the bus.

    http://tripplanner.metrokc.gov/cgi-bin/itin_page.pl?resptype=U

will tell you the route to take. There's a pretty large ride free zone downtown that includes the convention center, so if your hotel is inside or only a block or two outside its an even better deal.

    http://transit.metrokc.gov/tops/bus/ridefree.html

Plus, its Seattle so its not like the busses get all that shady, even late at night. At least from the perspective of an ex-Philly rider, so your mileage may vary if you're from Niceville, WI or something.

Some of us who are driving further away or bringing a lot of shit to pax (my car is full of equipment) cant take the bus.

I am going to have to pay for 6 days of parking at the wsctc :(

Man. This year when I parked at SakuraCon at the WSCTC, it was only $10 for the whole day. The prices jumped that much in a few months? Crazy!

Thankfully, I assume the Grand Hyatt will probably have parking for me, and I'll just walk to the convention center (around the corner).

I wonder if next year there could be a way we could flash our pass and pay like a discounted rate.

Uh you didnt park there the entire (24h) day then.

Yeah it would if you didnt download and install google earth and use the pax map plugin for it ;-)

I just viewed it in google earth and its all there. Hours, costs, and the clearances of the garages are in there.

And then you can expand the parking thread on the left side. Shows prices and everything.

I acquired all that parking info back in march so if its not 100% accurate its not my fault :P Prices dont change much in that time period so it should be good.

The parking at WSCTC will certainly fill up. I imagine the other lots will fill up as well. Parking downtown is terrible; that's just the way it is.

Alternative to parking is doing a park-and-ride, or bussing/taxiing in to the show. Or carpooling and splitting carpet fees.
