Is there any feasible way to make spoilers not show up in email notifications? I just got a pretty big Bioshock spoiler simply by checking my email. Not ideal.

I have everything set up to subscribe by default, so I don't have to trawl through the CP to find replies.
But hey! Not the point. You're right, I should have unsubscribed, but is there no way to prevent it? I can't be the only one.

I've never used email notification for posts, though I have for PMs.
Am I correct that it simply strips all bbcode when sending it as an email? Because if the bbcode processor is invoked then fixing it should be not too hard, but if not, well, then that will be a bit trickier.
The first one didn't work. Not too sure about the second.

OK, I've enabled something that I believe will strip spoilers from emails. If someone could test/verify that would be grand. If I can help with the testing somehow, let me know.

I just forced the daily digest notifications to send, a few hours early, in hopes it would help someone verify for me if the spoiler tag removal worked.

On-topic post up in here:
Currently, if you search for text that is contained in spoilertags, it does show the result in the search listing, but it removes the spoiler and puts a spoiler removed tag there instead, which can make it confusing why that post is on the search results at all.
I understand why this is (god forbid you search for something like "Deathly hallows" and then BAM HARRY POTTER SPOILER IN THE SEARCH RESULTS) but is it a setting the user could choose to enable or not? I use forum search quite a lot, rather than actually digging through topics to look for posts relevant to my interests (like Battlestar Galactica), and I'm willing to run the risk of spoilers to know what the hell the post that came up has to do with BSG (mostly because I'm a blatant BSG spoiler-whore but that's neither here nor there)
Yes/no/not feasible?

well, to make it so that spoilers are not removed from the search results would be feasible, but to do the right thing and make it so that spoilered text isn't searched unless you want to see the spoilered text in the search results is not feasible without having everything indexed twice (our current index is pretty big, I wouldn't want to duplicate it.)

also, thanks for helping me test that.
Dear Ramius,
Pony has just replied to a thread you have subscribed to entitled - Spoilers in Email Notifications - in the Tube's Circus Of Bug Reports and User Issues forum of Penny Arcade Forums.

I think he's asking for the spoiler removal to be made optional.
