I believe that was the projected number. I'm sort of wondering if it went considerably beyond that, considering the way some things ran out. Like one-day badges and t-shirts.
The first-day line-up was pretty funny. When I got there, we were practically running down the aisles. I was tired before I even got into the Exhibition Hall.
Well I know for a fact because my brother was too stupid to pre-register in time that they ran out of passes and pass holders at the registration and checkin line at one point. Epic.
I heard this as well. A buddy of mine was an Enforcer, and he overheard that they had printed 40,000 badges, but still ran out and ended up issuing wristbands on Sunday.

I can believe it. A friend of mine got a Saturday pass and hers was printed on the back of those free Precipice t-shirt badges from last year because they ran out of blanks. She thought she won something until she went to the Enforcer booth (and at that exact moment I realized why that badge looked so familiar). Thanks to what I'm guessing were feminine charms, she got a free t-shirt from the prize redemption table anyway.
I'm pointing to the 40-45k region, since we were so completely out of badges. With 22,000 pre-registers, I could see the 3-day & daily lineups bringing another 20k.
Sorry. What sucks is that with these 40k+ numbers, I wonder how many were actually able to see the Omegathon final round.
Anyone who bothered to walk in the door. I was at the absolute back of the room (showed up 20 min or so after the ginormous line went in) and could see both screens as well as plenty of pockets of space if people actually cared.

Yeah, visibility in the theater was cool, although an inclined floor, although not possible there, would make things better.
The official number being release to the press is 37,400 people. That is a turnstile count (so a 3 day badge counts as 3 people and 1 day badge counts as 1). This is how all conventions are measured.
