Now, im not a game review tool...but im just wondering if anyone else has an opinion on if this is hype, or actually awesome game, placing it in 4th of all time. I fucking love it, but I dont put any of the other games above bioshock in my top three anyways, so mabey I just have some scewed perspective...basically im asking...we all know this game kicks "butt" (tychos correction during panel) but anyone else think it deserves to be in their top 3 of all time? I certainly do not know...

I'd say it's not unreasonable since System Shock 2 is #77 on that list, and Bioshock is basically the end result of Irrational going "okay, let's take everything that made SS2 fantastic, improve upon those points significantly, and then make it look good."
i guess, see my issue is that like...games being messed up, making my adrenaline pump, is a negative for me...thats one thing that bugs me about the game, the fact that its freaky...lol

Once the lagging stops for me, I think I'll enjoy it. But having the game be choppy and freezing from level 4 on has really taken a toll on my nerves. It's not only frustrating to defend against enemies while your screen stops every five seconds, it's near-game breaking. In fact, the only reason it isn't game breaking is because you realize that if the screen ever stops freezing, it becomes a fun game.
Fix the game in a Live update, and I'll be golden. Until then, it's shelved while I go pursue other games, like Phoenix Wright 3.
Bioshock totally clicks with me, like few games ever before. In fact, it's probably the only game that has done this. It flows so well. I never feel bored, I don't see any glaring flaws that take away from the experience, and as soon as I finished it I went right back in to play it again.

I'm having trouble seeing all these new qualities it is bringing to the table.
I don't see anything new or improved with it's combat, the AI, or gameplay (so far).
*EDIT* Actually, I will say that the first person camera seems to be more responsive and shaky than most FPSs, which I like quite a bit, but this is nothing new/improved (Criminal Origins feels the same).
The atmosphere, again, is amazing, and I don't recall any game using an underwater utopia like Bioshock has ...
What I'm saying is that I see the good game, but I don't see the hype. I don't see how Bioshock stands out aside from the underwater utopia-gone-bad atmosphere. I'm not trying to downplay the game, but after all this hype, it leaves something to be desired, in my opinion.

might want to take another gander at those post's names, chief
It is godly. It is everything that is right and good in this universe on a DVD-R.
It is shooting bees out of your arms at someone and mercilessly clubbing them to death with a pipe wrench.
THAT is what Bioshock is.
Sooo..would you kindly buy it?
But in Ocarina of Time I got to ride a horse.....A HORSE, motherfuckers.
Yeah, but the bees...think about it...bees.
The Flood. Exactly. Not to mention the Halo 2 ARG was called "I Love Bees". Coincidence? Hardly. And the wrench is just a shadow of the crowbar.

You're doing this wrong.
