Was anyone else totally pissed off that that guy got up and cut off the "I want to touch the iPhone" girl (sorry I don't remember her name) in the middle of her telling the "All Hail Ball" story in of one of the PA panels? Not only that, but then he proceeded to lay claim to the origin of the whole thing. Maybe what he's saying is true and maybe it isn't, but 1) Let the damn girl finish the story (she was waaaaaaay cuter than you) and 2) Who cares who started it? It doesn't matter at all, it's irrelevant really. I just thought that was pretty lame.
Yeah, I just felt like when someone is telling a story you don't jump in and say like "HEY, YOU'RE TELLING IT ALL WRONG LET ME TELL IT." I mean, if there's something blatantly wrong and you want to correct it that's one thing. Maybe I'm just biased because I thought the girl was cute
I wasn't try to shit-talk about someone or anything, I was just wondering if I was way off base. I mean, I know that if I were up there and trying to tell a story and someone just jumped in like that I'd probably be pretty upset about it. I guess maybe Trillian didn't care that much because she just went and sat down, but I felt bad for her because I was there when the ball stuff went down and she was telling the story fine as far as she got...
I wasn't really pissed. I was kind of surprised but not in a "man what a dick" kind of way. It is the ball, after all - the truth must be told. The legend must be preserved. The legacy must be .. legacized.
I guess I just don't really see what she said that was wrong that needed to be corrected. She had just barely started the story and was getting to the important part, and it just seemed like the other guy jumped in because he wanted to take credit. Just my point of view.

I was happy she was cut off.
She got almost everything wrong and wasn't even telling it very well.

Can we get the chemicals in. 'Cause anything's better than this.
I can understand why people are obsessed with it I guess, but I don't think the details are necessarily important when it comes to describing what happened to someone who wasn't there. And again, what did she say that was wrong? She barely even got to speak...
I guess it was the fact that she missed whether it was the first PA panel or the second...but she was nervous, as anyone would be in front of thousands and thousands of folks.
I felt a little 3PE for both of them actually, even though I totally believe that Moe was the genesis for the hailing of the ball. I just wanted them to get on to the next questions asap.
On a side note, I was really moved that the guy that had donated to Child's Play to get Ball actually set it free again. Like, was I crazy that it got me a little emotional? What a cool thing to do. PAX at it's best, for sure.

Her name's Trillian.
She tends to push stories a little longer than they need to be.
Love to her, but I think it may have been for the best that she got cut off.

oh hey this reminds me of that time when who gives a shit
Well, while I did find it kind of odd that she got cut off, she (allegedly) got the story totally wrong, so to me its okay.
Better to hear the correct story than the wrong story.
Also, I think the person who asked legitimately did not know what the fuck "all hail ball" was until that moment. I sure didn't, until someone explained it to me.
It's easy to feel left out when everyone around you is in on the joke, and you're not.
I think it's fine that someone asked and wanted to know what happened, but to me it doesn't really matter what the hell anyone was waiting for when the event occurred. The guy asking just wanted to know what the deal was; it doesn't matter if it happened at the first panel or the second, it's totally irrelevant. Besides that she didn't even get to say anything before the guy cut her off. I have a feeling no matter who was telling that story that guy was jumping up there...he probably started running as soon as the guy asked...

Sorry, I'm just easily excitable But unless someone is going to point out what she said wrong (besides the stupid first panel/second panel crap) than stop saying it was "totally wrong"...and of all the places I would think that people here could refrain from calling people ugly and shit...grow up...

If you absolutely HAVE to put in your 2 cents, just wait until the person is done.
P.S. Shouldn't matter if he's a mod or not, there's no excuse for rudeness.

I asked them to put the ball in the comic last year .
She got almost everything wrong and wasn't even telling it very well.

Haha, very funny.
No, I are not.
'nuff said.
I exclaimed "Khoo is my Sensei!"
So if memes make great shirts,
And Pod Six is Jerks,
Then Moe, Khoo and I had our day.
Yeah, especially since I started the ball incident last year anyway.
