Knytt Stories is the sequel to Knytt, an exceptional short indie game with emphasis on atmosphere rather than action. It even comes with a level editor! Super mega highly recommended.
Knytt was an odd little game where you search for pieces of a space ship, but the emphasis was on the exploration and the atmosphere. There were very few enemies, and no way to damage them, but it really didn't matter because they were more or less parts of the environment. The entire game was focused on, well, the atmosphere and ambiance. It's hard to describe. Think Shadow of the Colossus between the Colossi battles.
EDIT: After playing this sequel for awhile, I can say that yes, this game is much more like Metroid than its prequel.

It's like a really stripped down version of metroid. Good fun. Really pretty too.

Nifflas said in an interview that Knytt was largely inspired by Ico and Shadow of the Colossus. There's even some direct homages if you look closely.
Don't forget about the extra level packs availble for Stories, folks!
The main game is certainly a lot shorter than the original Knytt, but I like it more. It is more forgiving than the last game (although I did spend an hour on some totally unnecessary incredibly hard jumping part in the last game, skews it a bit) and it has more variation in graphics and enemies. I finished it in one sitting, 1.5 hours tops. There does seem to be some extra (probably a lot harder) content that has something to do with the keys you can find. Only, I have only the blue and red one yet.
Does anyone know where the other keys are? (spoiler it)
Played a bit of Knytt a while ago. It reminded me a lot of Seiklus. I think I stopped playing when I realised that unlike in Seiklus you can die. I plan to go back to it sometime before I start this up.
I really enjoyed Seiklus though. Ridiculously simple and relaxing, it was just about old skool adventuring in this simply rendered, odd little world.

Yes. This. Knytt is good and I'll definitely check out Knytt Stories, but Within a Deep Forest is just spectacular.
