What is the PAX '07 Meme?
EvilBadmanDO NOT TRUST THIS MANRegistered Userregular
Last year saw the spawning of the most important leaders of our lives in these troubled times, the Ball. Indeed, All Hail Ball. But now, as our gaze shifts to the future, what will be remembered as the meme of PAX '07? I submit All Hail Boll, as a placeholder until the true king surfaces.
life's a game that you're bound to lose / like using a hammer to pound in screws
fuck up once and you break your thumb / if you're happy at all then you're god damn dumb
that's right we're on a fucked up cruise / God is dead but at least we have booze
bad things happen, no one knows why / the sun burns out and everyone dies
Probably something to do with the NVidia numbers thing, is my guess. Good god, those signs were everywhere. I saw several people ink them on their bodies as well. Zany.
Ok so it should be, Nvidia Love Connection! Am all for that, I gave up on Nvidia helping me find a mate just like trying Match.Com

I do not think PAX 07 warrants nor deserves a meme.
But if there is destined to be one, I'd say it should involve the "I won't sue you" fellow or Jenga.
The I won't sue you guy is unexplainable. I'm still trying to figure it out and i was sitting in a row that had a great view of him.
I was sitting pretty close to him, too.
Actually, it was kinda scary. You almost think he was gonna pull a gun or something and start shooting...

I was his roommate. He's bipolar and had stage fright something fierce. He just froze up and was suddenly super afraid that he had done something wrong or something. He spent the rest of his day trying to put himself back together. I guess what I'm saying is lay off him already, jeez.

I'm sorry, but regardless of your friends condition, it is a fact that people were frightened by the whole exchange. It is nice to know the reasons for his behavior, and I hope that he is doing better post-convention.
I think the most obvious meme candidate is the Nvidia Number Panhandler thing.
as for "I won't Sue you guy", I was almost sure that he was going to reveal himself as the perpetrator of the thing where someone anonymous accused G+T of haxxoring Guild Wars accounts.
Sadly, it was not to be.

"Always be wary of people who use quotes... I don't know who said that" - Murdoc Nicalls.
The "I won't sue you" guy was in line for the mic at the first Gabe and Tycho Q&A. He stammered and said some pretty bizarre things like "The answer is no" and "am I just being paranoid?" G&T tried to pry a question out of him, which didn't really work; after a few tries the guy said "Are you going to answer my question?" Response: "You haven't asked us one". Then he said "Ok, I have a question for you" and Tycho said "Ok, halfway there, buddy, just bring it home." G&T did a good job making it funny and less creepy than it was (which was very). Finally the guy left the mic and sat down. We assumed he was super high, but I guess we were wrong.
The funniest part was that the next guy at that mic after that said that his question was kind of weird, and Gabe said "As weird as that last guy?"
You missed a big point in your story. Did he even say that line? Thanks for explaining it, though.
Yeah, it was somewhere before G&T tried to prod a question out of him. The first thing he asked them is "why'd you set it up?" to which G&T were like, "uh, set what up?"
At one point they tried to just switch to the other mic with Tycho saying something along the lines of "maybe this question will be less surreal."
Well, yes, it was me.
I thought people were after me for being a crazy person.
I was hearing people say shit they didn't say and everything.
I'm bi-polar.
But I got better over the weekend. And everyone was really supportive.
PAX rocks.
It really does.

Hotel bound on PAX Saturday,
I exclaimed "Khoo is my Sensei!"
So if memes make great shirts,
And Pod Six is Jerks,
Then Moe, Khoo and I had our day.

Am I being paranoid?
There was a disturbance in the force. As if 10,000 geeks suddenly went silent...
Seriously no one knew if they should laugh or flee. That guy looked pissed when he stormed by me.
I kept expecting that guys to just start laughing and say, "Haha, just fucking with you guys.", but it never happened. o.0
EDIT:
ps all I want from this weekend is a T-shirt that says "Sweet Flare!!" with a picture of a winking bunny? Cat thing.

I have 56988. If I had spotted your badge I'd have had a small heart attack then cried since it wasn't a complete match.
I had 55868. Over the three days, I met 56868, 55861, 55862, 55863, 55864, 55865, 55866, 55867, and 55869 before finally making a match.
EVERYDAY I'M HUSTLIN'
I second this.
I nearly gave some people "The signal" while at the airport but then I though better of it and just gave tehm the head nod.
They played that last year too. Goddamn brilliant.
