I recently purchased this game and decided this would be a good first game to get. So far all I can say is that this game is hard but good fun. Right now I am stuck on
operating on the kid in Africa.

I cant seem to ever get above a Rank C. I even went back and tried the very first Operation again and I still cant get past Rank C.
So what do you guys think about this game ?

Amazing game. The sequel is coming soon, too!

This game is one of the reasons I recommend new DS owners get screen protectors. So fun, but so grueling at times and after a few too many retries I know I lose fine control over how much pressure I put on the stylus. Thankfully the Wii version is much easier on the fingers, if not the soul.

I found that tilting it doesn't work very well, and once I started jerking it, I got much better results.

This is one of the hardest games ever made.

I got up to the X missions, and I consider myself happy with that.

Ok I am now up to the mission Third Sin. I am specifically stuck on the
Triti. Has anyone got any advice about how to beat it ?

I must say this game has been really quite fun but it really is a hard game.

I don't specifically remember that one.

The only real advice I can give you is to keep trying. I'm usually pretty good about trying stuff again, but for some reason, losing in Trauma Center is just so much more depressing. Keep trying, on the eight or ninth consecutive attempt it seems to get a lot easier.

Note: Never beat the main story, always get stuck on last operation, so I'm one to talk. :/

Triti is really more of a puzzle than anything else. Once you know how it works, it's not so bad.

This is tough to explain without pictures, but here goes anyway:
Triti will try to grow new triangular "cells" when, and only when, you remove one of the old cells. If there are two thorns on the same side of one of the cells, a new cell will pop up in that direction.

One common approach is to drive triti down into one of the corners. Basically, go ahead and let triti fill up the lower-left part of the screen, then work from top-right to lower-left. As long as you keep the "border" free of thorns, you won't get any new cells.

Another approach is to go for the kill right away. Hit HT, rip everything out, cut, and remove all of the triangles at once. This should still work for Third Sin, but you'll have to lightning quick.

Triti is very easy, but you have to thoroughly understand how it works. It's a puzzle, though you do have to do it pretty fast.
The objective is to remove every triangle without allowing any more to grow. Removing them is easy enough - pull out the 3 needles and take it off. The problem is that Triti can generate new triangles in one of two ways:

1.) When you remove a triangle, if there are any places where a new one will be created by adding one thorn, they will all instantly gain a triangle. In other words, if there are two adjacent needles on the edge of the formation in any place where a third needle can be added to form a new triangle, that triangle will be created. So basically what you have to do is remove every other needle around the edge until there are no double pairs, and then pull out as many triangles as you can before more the needles grow back. Operation time really isn't an issue, so if you fall behind just let them all grow back and try again.

2.) If, at any point, there is a single triangle isolated from the rest that has needles on it, a whole group of triangles will instantly be added around it. So whenever you get a formation down to a single triangle, be damn sure to remove that one as well before any needles grow back.

If you don't care about score, you can also just use the Healing Touch right away, pull out every single needle, and then all the triangles.

What the fuck is a Kinfe?

    -edit-

My spelling Nazism aside, the game is awesome, but fucking hard in the later levels. I have made it to the last level but just can't beat it, and can't be bothered to keep trying.

Loved it up to that point though.

I agree; this game is great. Its gameplay is fast-paced, unique, and it requires strategy. Many times, you would encounter multiple tumors, or other such afflicted areas. With each type of problem, there is a certain sequence you must execute in order to cure each area. However, often, If one area is left unchecked for too long, it will drain health from the body, often making it nearly impossible for the patient to survive. You would have to figure out whether it's worth it to do the first step on all afflicted areas, and then move on to the second step, to cure each area one by one, or try a combination of both strategies, as in the case in operation 9. In it, there are anuerisms, which are veins which gradually grow, until they burst and explode, if left unchecked. You had to inject just enough of the sedative to keep all but one vein from exploding. You would focus the remaining sedative on the other vein, and repeat this process until said vein can be prevented from expanding any further. Then, you would move onto one of the other veins. What I also should note is that this is one of the only games for the DS that I've played so far which not only requires the use of the stylus, but also uses it well, unlike most other DS games, in which it seems more like a gimmick than anything else.

Now, to the complaints. First, I think I can honestly say that this game has the most pretentious and contrived storyline that I have ever seen in a videogame. It tells messages about such sensitive subjects as euthanasia, and tries very hard to be, "epic," coming off seeming more shallow than anything else, due to inane dialogue and the fact that this commentary is coming from a game that also features missions involving removing a giant piece of glass from the inside of someone's heart, and using lasers to zap shark-shaped parasites that are swimming around inside people's bodies. The only other event in a game I've seen so far that comes even close, as far as contrived dialog is concerned, is Naomi Hunter's monologue about the meaning of life at the end of Metal Gear Solid. I also was not impressed by the developers' attempt to pad the game near the end by repeating the same missions over and over, just faster, was pretty lame. The most egregious example is operation 25, a tedious mission wherein you have to operate on five people with the same problem in under ten minutes. I don't remember having any other problems in this game.

I beat the game, and made it to the X missions. I never beat the first X mission, though.
