So my roommate was supposed to move in to our new place today (I move in tomorrow), but when he got there, he found that the previous tenants had not moved out yet, and there was nothing he could say to make them get the fuck out. He's kind of a non-confrontational guy which is a shame because had I been there, I would just been like HEY. WE PAID RENT FOR SEPTEMBER. IT IS SEPTEMBER FIRST. THIS IS NOT YOUR APARTMENT ANYMORE, IT IS OURS. GET THE GODDAMN FUCK OUT BEFORE I CALL THE COPS.
Which would have been an empty threat because we're pretty sure the apartment is being rented out illegally (we weren't asked to sign a lease), so getting the cops involved would have been A Bad Idea, but at least I could have yelled at them. The point is my roommate is useless and it's his own stupid fault he's sleeping somewhere else tonight because he couldn't talk some shit to a couple girls.
I would have walked in and slept in one of the girls' beds.
Honestly I might be able to get something for closer to 900, but still, I'd have to share it with someone, and we'd both be students, so a lot of landlords would be wary of that.
And agian, because of being a student (and having no credit history), I'd have to probably pay first, last, and a deposit, so that's about $2,400-$3,000 right there. So I'll have to (a) find a place willing to rent a studio to two students. (b) save up $1,500.
This is such a pain in the ass. Alternatively, I could just live farther away from school, but commuting sucks when you don't have a car. Really I should probably just focus on getting my license and a job for now. /sigh.
