Laptop as a TV

I was trying to figure out how to use my Laptop as a output for my cable since my TV got fried from lightning. I was wondering if there was close to a feasible solution while I wait through the awful claims process of trying to get my TV's worth from the surge protector company.

    The adaptec gamebridge is a device that enable you to use your monitor (PC or Laptop) to view games & TV via a USB port.

    It's available on Amazon for around 15 bucks.

    From looking at the Amazon reviews, there was some mention of people experiencing audio lag (of up to three seconds).

    Three second audio lag is kinda big.

    yeah, i just spent 70 bucks on windows vista compatible USB tvtuner for my computer, got it home, failed installation, and now i find that its not fully compatible, only compatible with the 32bit version. which mega sucks. hopefully they will take it back and i wont have to go through the company to get a refund.

    I get about 20-50ms lag with my gamebridge, using Media Player Classic.
