What games did I miss for the SP?

I hate to say it, but the only SP game I have ever played through was the Minish Cap. What other good games are there? I`m not really into RPGs like FF or Golden Sun. Thanks in advance.

If you didn't have an SNES, get all of the Marios, Yoshi's Island, and maybe FF6. Even if you don't like the genre in general, it's widely considered *the* RPG to play. Also, the Castlvanias and Metroids.

TMNT is an awesome brawler. It's a little too short, but it's crazy fun.

I'll second the Metroids and at least Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance and Aria of Sorrow. I haven't played Circle of the Moon though.

Drill Dozer is a fun platformer if you want to try something different from the Mario games. It's pretty cheap these days ($15 new). It's really a great game for the money.

And if you've never played it, the Link to the Past port is definitely a must.

ok, we need to petition the mods for better updated stickies in the AFK forum or something, since we are getting "tell me good games for X/sell me an X/someone died and i got their x, which games are cheap"

    Having said that:
Zelda: Link to the past - Awesome
Gunstar Super Heros - Good shmup eque game
Advance Wars - Badass army SRPG
Fire Emblem - Badass medevil SRPG
    Metroid Fusion
    Metroid Zero Misson
Megaman Zero 1-4 - Kiss your soul good bye
    Ninja Five-O

    Import only:
    Orbital
    Dotstream

Linked is a resource which collects reviews of GBA games from respected (in most cases) critics and orders them by average score. The order of the games can be ignored, and there are a small amount of abberations on the list, but almost everything in the top 100 is worth playing, and even beyond that are many great games you may enjoy. There's hours of reading and research there. Knock yourself out.

The GBA has literally scores of games worth playing. If one were to limit oneself to to triple-A titles alone, it would take years of casual play to need or want another console.

Mary Kate and Ashley is scored above Super Robot Taisen and CIMA? What kind of madness is that?

Maybe we should have a master list, by system. Games on the list would be sorted into genre / type (by type I mean timewaster/pickup/long haul/etc). Only games that have been out for over a year (to avoid hype trains) and should be based on general consensus rather than reviewer scores...

The not-so-obvious GBA games I will recommend in every thread like this

    box-l.jpg

Some of the best 2D platforming in a long time

    and

Completely unique and just a wonderful experience

bah, damnit. Oh well, Link's Awakening is a good one too.

Seconding Gunstar Super Heroes as well. Not as cool as the original, but still a lot of fun (especially on the go).

Man that, Car Battler Joe, and Doom+Doom2 megapacks are all over the bargin bins at my local store.

    In my dreams.

All those games are good, great even. Finding a non pirated copy of them? Pain in the ass.

River City Ransom EX for GBA. The NES beat-em-up/RPG remade and with enough extras and to choke a camel.

The one and only game where you fight school punks on the way to rescue your (or your rival's) kidnapped girlfriend and take their pocket change (seriously), then go shopping for food, comic books, CDs, a sauna, etc. to heal up and improve your stats.

Surprisingly deep for an NES brawler, this enhanced remake takes it even further, adding all sorts of secrets and little events with various conditions to ensure each playthrough can be unique, allowing you to customize nearly every aspect of the gameplay, and even the ability to save (you can keep a lot of files too). It's not a long game but totally meant to be played over and over, as well as just providing endless brawling within a single game , if desired.

For those who remember: BARF! *plink plink plink plink plink*

There was also a GBA wiki.

Anyhow, I spend more time with my GBA than any other system, so I can recommend lots of games that I have played:

All three of the Castlevania titles (Circle of the Moon, Harmony of Dissonance, Aria of Sorrow)
The Mega Man Battle Network Series (3 is best) (RPGs with reflex-based combat)
    Mega Man Zero Series
    Pokemon series (I'd recommend Emerald)
Mario Advance series (Super Mario Bros 2, 3, World, and Yoshi's Island)
    Advance Wars series
Final Fantasy series (I+II, IV, V, VI, IV is my favorite)
    Gradius Galaxies
Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga (unusual RPG)

and this is just scratching the surface.

WarioWare Twisted, in addition to being the best WarioWare game in the series, is also the best game on the GBA.
