it is unquestionably a rushed book: a few plot threads are left hanging and you're like 'what, that was over quick'

    but it's really fun

e: pirate, what do you like

Oh, I mostly have a preference for science fiction but I'll read most things.

I thought Stardust was pretty good, but then again, I have a boner for Gaiman.

As for I am Legend. I thought is was a good enough story, far too in depth in some parts, and the end just seemed like it was tacked on to give it some "resolution"

I really like Warren Ellis, but the more I read of his, the more apparent it is that he repeats himself. There was a whole lot of Transmetropolitan in Crooked Little Vein. It's still great that he writes things so dirty and depraved (and makes seem real) things that I would never even imagine, and if I did, would probably spend hours trying to scrub off of me.

I love Gaiman. Love. LOVE. I bought Fragile Things.

I just thought Stardust was pretty heavy-handed with the THIS IS FANTASY style of writing.

Everyone should read Heroes Die. And I'm not just saying that so it will make more money and then the third book in the series will come out.

Well, maybe a little. But it's still really, really good.

I picked up House of Leaves earlier today before work because I was in B&N and while getting a magazine I thought to myself "I might as well buy a book, too".

I really haven't read many books proper in a while, just been sticking to graphic novels...

Man it is okay but if it hadn't been so damn controversial for its time I doubt it would be very well-known.

I read it back in junior high school, and I didn't care for it. I read about a book a week back then so I probably had pretty good taste.

I think The Perks of Being a Teenage Wallflower is something my generation can relate to more.

Read a Norwegian collection of short stories. They all had moose and sex! Not moose sex though.

Currently reading A History of Warfare by John Keegan. Again.

Yeah. So far all that have been published is Heroes Die and Blade of Tyshalle. Caine Black Knife is done but they haven't published it yet. Supposed to be coming out middle of next year or something.

You can never have too much rape and violence though. That applies to both literature and social engagements.

I would go so far as to say they're my favourite fantasy books of all time. My only fear is that the bastard will die before he manages to churn out the last few books of the series.

I'll definitely track them down. I need to read something. I think the last book I read was Harry Potter.

Song of Ice and Fire is exactly like Harry Potter. Except when they went down to get the Philosophers Stone, instead of having a bunch of tests to complete, Harry and Ron would be brutally murdered along with all their friends, and all the women would be raped then murdered.

I love Song of Ice and Fire, but that bastard would rather jet around in conventions and speak to his wierdo fans than get to cracking on his books. Thats why now I'm a bigger fan of the Malazan Books of The Fallen. Erikson has put out twice as many books as that douche in the same amount of time, and most have been excellent. Doesn't mean I'm not anxious for A Dance with Dragons though.
