A friend's looking at buying a new graphics card and I had the thought that he could save a whole bunch of money if he bought online from a US store and had it shipped over. For example the cheapest we can find a BFGtech 8800 GTS OC2 320mb for is AUD$450 which is approximately USD$372. I'm seeing figures like USD$280 for the same card in the US. Newegg.com has it listed for just over $300.
So, does anyone know of a US PC parts retailer who he might be able to order through and save some cash, even factoring in shipping?

Assuming Australia's mail and customs systems are similar to Canada's, even if he bought a card for 300 US it would probably cost north of 400 US after shipping and any associated import taxes, plus it would take weeks if not months to get there.
