Quick query I guess; looking for multiplayer games of the pirate genre, preferably on PC. 'Legacy of Jack Sparrow' only supports sharing a keyboard or pads...

Pirates of the Burning Sea should be entering beta soon. Puzzle Pirates has been there and back. Air Buccaneers probably doesn't have a ton of players any more but hey, it's cool. There is, unfortunately, a pretty big dearth of good multiplayer pirate games. I guess they all figure the most fun part of being a pirate is pillaging the high seas, and pillaging each other over and over is just a little repetetive.

    the Monkey Island series.

seriously, perhaps the best overall game series ever... or at least one of them.

We've been trying to LAN it up over the past few weeks, gone through a fair few games. Mostly SWAT, Diablo, Serious Sam, that kinda thing. We hit up all 3 'Pirates' movies and now I'm hard for pirates, so I've been looking for something, but there really doesn't seem to be much we can play together as such.

That's probably not going to work so well with more than one person.

Note: I am prejudiced a bit since I worked on it, but if you want a party-game kinda thing you might check this out:

Doh, I missed the multiplayer part. Sorry!

Still a great game though, just not useful here.

It is a single-player game, but it is worth mentioning that it is a BLAST playing with multiple people. Since it's a puzzle-based game, it doesn't really matter that only one person is "at the helm".

You could always dust off a copy of Battlefield 1942 and load up the Battlefield Pirates Mod. I understand they're also working on a new version for BF2, but it's not done yet. I've not played it, but I heard it's one of the better mods for 1942.

I don't believe it - I'm on my THIRD PS3, and my FIRST XBOX360. What the heck?

Pirates Vikings and Knights II is a fun multiplayer game for the Source Engine. If you already have a Steam Account with Halflife2 you can just download the client from their website at http://www.pvkii.com/ and get on with your plundering. I haven't played it since beta 1.0 but back then it was a pretty fun diversion.
