So hey, I do not own a Wii and I do know if this is actually in any game yet.
Think about this... you got a Wii, you probably have a couple of controllers (what with all of the multiplayer action likely going on).
Now, taking a look at the
Wii Blaster accessory, you can make the Wiimote a bit like a gun.
A lot of FPS games (Halo games, Perfect Dark 64, Counter-Strike) let you dual wield weapons in one form or another - but the Wii presents the first reasonably realistic opportunity for dual wielding guns in a first person shooter.
Think about it - ever play an arcade game like Area 51 or House of the Dead 2 by yourself with both guns? It is pretty damn fun. Alternating fire, unloading on a boss, shooting in two different places at once - and now we have the opportunity to do that on consoles.
There are more possibilities beyond that - for instance, you could dual wield wands in a game based on mediocre fantasy fiction!
One Wiimote a sword, the other a shield!
One lightsaber? WHY NOT TWO?
The possibilities make me very excited in many ways and in many places,
especially my pants.

cause I don't think I could use a zapper in one hand
But yeah, I probably have spent like 50 hours playing House of the Dead 2 and Area 51 while dual wielding the pistols. (HotD 3 was a bitch - it has pump action shotguns, and it is considerably more difficult to pump those when you have one in each hand. Still trying to figure that out. Current theory - use my legs to pump them down lol.)
Here's hoping we see some sort of iteration of a Time Crisis game on the Wii. >_<
Maybe it could be done with a 3rd party shell, but Nintendo's requires 2 hands to operate.
That was fun.
Definitely an interesting take on on-rails arcade shooters. I would kill for an arcade box that has Time Crisis 1-4 loaded onto it.
Fuck that, guess I'll get two LCDs, two PS2s, and two sets of the game... d:
Also, if anyone can find me a cheap Dreamcast lightgun (I already have at least one), they'd get some mad props.
Why stop there? Just get another and then you can extend your triple wand claws.
I mean, think about it - imagine an upgraded Wii sports boxing (or a completely new boxing game, like Fight Night or a new Punch out) that is controlled with two wiimotes.
Each wiimote moves one of your hands, just like in wii boxing, except with two you have full motion. You can easily jab with your left while you fake with your right or uppercut on the right and jab and block and all that jazz. It just seems like it'd work perfect... at least in my head.
I dunno. Just throwing that out there.
Yes, but it doesn't seem as sensitive as the wiimote's.
However; I really would like to see some games utilize 2 wiimotes instead of the nunchuck. I just don't see it happening any time soon as it would be a first in the industry and wii critics would jump all over the opportunity to blast nintendo for making people buy 2 remotes to play a single player game.

But it would be cool in a boxing game where they need all the extra motion detection.
Anyone else having flashbacks of Goldeneye and dual-wielding those N64 controllers?
Have we heard how the new Ippo boxing game controls? Is it Wii Sports style or done with buttons?
Because I hope so very much that it's controls are done ala Wii Sports style. That would be goddamn awesome.
That looks like a pain in the ass - the primary trigger is on the foregrip but the nunchuck is in the stock? That means you have to hold it left handed if you're right handed and right handed if you're left handed.
Or straight out in front of you, which is no better.
No. It just means that you'll be using the nunchuck's button for the primary trigger
