Is it possible to connect a 3.0gb/s SATA drive to a motherboard that only supports 1.5gb/s ?

    Now, I don't keep up with all the new confangled computer stuff so don't quote me on this,

    I would assume however that a 3.0gb/s would downclock itself to 1.5 gb/s if that's all the controller will support.
