Wireless Network Problem

Okay, as I was saying in a thread not too long ago, I have a new Dell computer with Vista on it. It came with a wireless adaptor that is absolutely giving me fits. First of all, it wont let me connect to the internet with any regularity. I can connect to my network, but not to the internet for some freaking reason. Why is it doing this??? I have never had a problem with wireless internet before, what do I have to do to make it connect to the internet with no problem???????

Also, I wish to transfer all my files from my laptop (where I am currently typing this) onto my new computer. However, I cant seem to connect my new desktop and find any of the 3 computers that are also connected to the network. Currently, my laptop can access the other computers, but they dont even show up on my new Vista comp. I have tried going through the normal network, I have tried making an ad-hoc computer to computer network. The network does connect, but once again, I cannot see anything on my new comp. I have even tried to connect them together with a wire, but nothing happens there either.

I have no clue what do to. Any advice????
