iPhone help!

My screen just went blank on my iphone. It's still on, as it's making sound, vibrations, and responding to touch. But the screen is BLACK.

It was in my pocket, I took it out, it flickered and went off. What is going on?

    Your screen went out. Take it to the Apple Store to get serviced?

    Did you try holding the hold button and home button until it reset?
