Okay, so on my college campus there is a robust wireless network. To use this to connect to the Internet, one has to pass through a browser-based login, which of course means that my Nintendo DS can't go online at all. My MacBook can, though, and so I set up Bootcamp and Windows and then bought myself a fancy USB whatsit from Nintendo, figuring that it would let my DS reach through the MacBook's already-validated connection.
Nope! When I go to install the driver for it, the installer says, "no internet connection detected."
Here is the setup: my computer connects to the campus network via wireless. There is a 'clean access agent' that tells the campus network who am I and whether my anti-virus is up-to-date, so I log in to that, then go to Internet Explorer and log in on an internal web-page, too. After all this, I can browse the web flawlessly, as you can see from the fact that I'm posting now.
I have my Windows firewall turned off. I even tried turning anti-virus off. No good. What I am wondering is, can anyone think of a way to get my DS online? I'm at my wit's end; I really doubt that there
is anything, since I'm not the network administrator. Still, any thoughts would be most welcome.

At my campus we have to sign a "Game Console Registration Form" which includes writing your system's mac address number as well as some school identification info to gain access to the network here. You may have the same set up at your campus.
On the same note, in our residence halls, if anyone wants to hook up a wii or a 360 to the internet as well, we have to upgrade our internet package which cost about $40-120 a semester depending on the package...
You just might have to look into your school's IT department to see what you need to do to get your stuff online.
For me, I just decided it wasn't worth it.
