So my $5 Logitech USB keyboard has been whacked up lately. Or maybe it's the programs I'm using it in. Who knows.
First sign of a problem began in Maya today. I hit "ctrl + z" to undo and nothing happened. "Weird" I thought. Then I went in to manually enter some numbers, and the "1" key was giving me an "&." 2 was "#" or something, etc. The numpad, with numlock on, worked fine. I was pretty weirded out (those don't even correspond to the shift + number key combination) but I was like "it's probably just Maya's fault." I assume "z" was rebound to something else too because ctrl + z didn't work. Also, the "w" hotkey didn't work.
Yeah, so the problem seemed to go away when I quit Maya, although it might have been a little while after that until I used the keyboard again. About 15 minutes ago I started up Red Orchestra. I played a bit and suddenly my guy was going forwards on his own. Attempting to halt this movement led to him leaning to the left. A little bit of trial and error uncovered that my "q" key had become a "w," my "w" key was a "q," my "a" key was some other key, my ";" key was "m" and vice versa, and probably a bunch of other crap that I didn't feel like sorting through. I quit Red Orchestra and suddenly things worked fine.
Now, Maya screwing up the keyboard is weird, but I guess I could swallow that. Red Orchestra screwing up the keyboard is also weird but I could go with that. Both of them, beginning the same day, decide to start swapping keys on me? No way. But, it seems to go away when I quit each program.
What the
hell? Has this happened to anyone? It's not like I have a lot of choices. I can't really update my keyboard drivers or check to see if my IRQ keyboard privileges are set correctly. There's no memtest for a keyboard. It's just a keyboard.

perhaps this same situation is true of Red Orchestra? I wouldn't know I don't know that program.
