iTunes trouble?

I'm not exactly in dire straights with this one but its driving me nuts. If I open iTunes all my music is in the correct order with track numbers and shit. When I sync it to my iPhone all the albums are out of order. Track 3 is now track 15 and shit. Like I said not really serious but its really bothering me as every time I try to fix it nothing helps. Also album art never seems to transfer over to the phone. It shows up in iTunes but never on my phone.
So yeah is this normal? This is my first foray into anything Apple so I guess I'm starting to see why a lot of people shit all over iTunes.
