The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
I've only recently found out that macbooks come built in with a gyroscope (embarrasing I know). After some research I found a few little neat tools that use this to create some cool effects.
MacSaber and iAlert.
MacSaber effectivley turns your MacBook into a lightsaber (HAH!), and iAlert detects whenever your MacBook is picked up.
Does anyone know anything about programming for this gyroscope? I am curiouse to develop some software for it; However, I'm not sure how to go about it.

This suddenly gives me an idea to create a program called iPhoneSaber. You can guess what it is.
Want to work on it with me

No god damnit! The sheriff is a nig*Church Bells*r!!
Check out SeisMac, which uses an open-source library (created by the same programmer).
Also check out this site for some cool ideas. If you want to search for stuff yourself, the proper term for the gyro in the Power/Macbook is the "Sudden Motion Sensor".
Here's an Apple article that gives instructions for disabling/re-enabling the SMS.
And finally, here's my favorite use of the SMS: Smackbook Pro

"Damn you and your Daily Doubles, you brigand!"
I don't believe it - I'm on my THIRD PS3, and my FIRST XBOX360. What the heck?
