Every time you look at something detailed, you zip right past it. I have no idea why Sega put so much effort into gorgeous landscapes and enemy models - you zip right past them at 60 mph.

This is one of my favorite games of all time. Orta was my first (and only) foray into the Panzer Dragoon series. The gameplay is classic and makes me sad that the only series that still represent this genre are PD and Star Fox. And who knows when or if we will ever get a sequel to PD or another really good Star Fox game.
But I digress. As already mentioned the graphics are great and the art style is very unique. But one thing that always stands out to me is that the levels are packed with amazing set pieces and visuals. The level where you battle all the airships while they shoot at you while performing close strafing runs on them is one of my favorite levels of anything ever.

Have you played F-Zero GX?
Have you ever tried looking out the window while driving 60mph in a car?
It is not as good as Panzer Dragoon Zwei; then again, little is.
Damn right.
I saw where Hardcore Gaming 101 had an article on the Panzer Dragoon series. Obviously written by a part time fan, and definitely didn't take the era into consideration either.
Orta still looks pretty good. Some of it hasn't aged well, but many scenes are still looking excellent. Esepcially when you take down the emperor's statue.
I screwed up my first play through. I stayed in the light (? the one with the auto-aiming gun) dragon form almost the entire game, never evolved the heavy.
Is this game BC? And if so, is it buggy as hell like the majority of BC games i've tried to play?

This game is gorgeous, and has tons of replay value to boot.
Also includes the original Panzer Dragoon.
The question is, how can someone not want it?

I just got this game friday for 9 bucks, and wow it's an awesome game. No case or instructions, but i knew id never find it again if i passed it up. I've only played 4 levels so far, but what I've played is basically Starfox with dragons and that makes it all kinds of sweetness. It is a pretty tough game though, but it's worth every second.
I'm hoping that we eventually see them on either Live Arcade or VC, even though it seems unlikely :-(
I second this emotion! Definitely great eye candy for a game of that generation. Be prepared to shoot down a shit ton of enemies though.... from all sides! Also, you unlock the original (albeit PC version) Panzer Dragoon once you beat the game.
is it really gonna look that good coming off of things like Bioshock and Blue Dragon?
Yes.
Have you seen this game?
Do you think I'd be asking if I had?
The game was already rare by the time I got my first Xbox.
So, yeah, it IS pretty, but then again, I was playing EDF right before hand, so it didn't have to live up to much :P
Also, the fact that I'm reminded of Rez while playing, does that have ANYTHING at all to do with the fact that this game is also made by Sega, or is that solely because Rez was the last rails shooter that I was playing.

The opening level was so awesome, and then it went rapidly down hill from there.
