Well, I'm a sucker for point-and-click adventure games, and I get a sort of new Sam & Max vibe from this. My concern is that what really makes or breaks this style of game is the writing and setting. It seems an interesting setting, but the comedic timing and humour in the trailer seemed a bit iffy, so I'm not sure. I'm going to cross my fingers and likely buy it regardless, so long as it isn't reviewed as completely horrible.

Aside from the awful narration I really enjoyed the trailer. Unfortunately there really wasn't any solid info concerning the game at all, except that it has some amazing background art, which you could tell from any screenshot anyway.
This game has been in development for a long time. Like several years now. Good to see it coming out soon.
It appears that the backgrounds are both prerendered and 3d. A nice mixture allowing some depth as needed.
After watching the trailer, I'm thinking "Grim Fandango" I doubt it could be THAT good, but still.... maybe.

Ouch that trailer was terrible. A shame too as it looks pretty (aside from the character models).

hasn't this been in development for exactly 756 years?
The narrator seems like he had some kind of weird voice filter on his dialogue.
That said, I'm really looking forward to this. Though, after this season of gaming madness, I will probably semi forget about it again, so I hope it makes that early 2008 date.
I also kind of wish this game was hand-drawn 2D.

OK the narrator was terrible but that trailer still gets me very excited. I've been waiting for this game to come out forever and I can't wait till it launches.
Wasn't it completely animated (as in non-3d) originally? Maybe it was a placeholder, but the colors were a lot more vibrant in screens I saw, and the art looked nicer to me.
Still, it's a classic adventure game with a good staff, so it should turn out pretty well.
Wow - really mixed reactions which I can't quite understand. Even the voice over isn't *that* bad. Looks really good to me, fingers crossed on this one.

I liked the animation and environment. The narration, script, jokes, voice acting and anything else that tried to make this remotely alive had some serious suckage to it. That narrator is by far the worse.

Yes, see, I recall this as well. I remember it looking much more like Curse of Monkey Island at one point. I will have to see if I can find some of those old screens somewhere, to see whether we are crazy.

It was originally 2d, then they quickly moved to the same engine that was used for syberia with a plan for cell shaded characters. I like the new look, it's very corpsebride/nightmare before christmas.

The art just looks slick as hell. In action, it just makes me smile. Like Psychonauts, but as an adventure game.

They do need to fire the narrator though.
The non-narrator dialogue was pretty solid, and seems to be at least the quality of old lucasart's game.

I can't help but think they should have got this guy to do the VO though. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VthsQVsXwEg
I agree that it's a poorly designed trailer, though. It'd be nice if they'd actually, y'know, spent a few seconds with the main character.
