Fox Animation: Resisting Cancellation Since 1989

Hey let's talk about Fox animation and take bets on how long they can milk The Simpsons.

I saw the clips they released at the last star wars celebration. Damn hilarious, especially the tie fighter vs millennium falcon scene with Peter humming the song that went along with the fight.

I find most of prime time TV to be horribly dull and uninteresting, but find Family Guy and Simpsons to be hilarious.

From this I can infer that different people have different interests. There's probably a thread somewhere for something that interests you.

That clip is the funniest I've seen Family Guy be since it was cancelled. Really. This special makes up for the crap we've had to put up with since it was brought back.

... That was insane. So much of it was spot on. Some of it fell flat for me, the phone and the couch parts in particular, but most of it was just fantastic, really polished.

I watched the YouTube link. Didn't laugh once. The jokes were pretty weak and old.

I used to love Family Guy, back in the original seasons 1-3. But ever since it came back from cancellation, it's been boring as hell. It should have stayed cancelled and gold, rather than return as a weak shadow of its former self.

I like the new Family Guy episodes. There's some weak episodes, but most of them are funny.

I just hate what they've done to Stewie. I liked it when he was a diabolical baby genius bent on world domination. Nowadays he's a lot lamer.

While I can agree that the show pretty much peaked in season 2-3, and never quite regained the same level of funny, I've never gotten the whole "THIS SHOW IS SHIT SINCE IT CAME BACK!" thing.

I don't even need to look because it has nothing to with what I said. I know there are a lot of anti-fox jokes in FOX cartoons. What does all this have to do with Richy's views specifically having a bearing on Fox (which is what I was talking about)?

I could turn it right around and say there must be a lot of people who like it or it wouldn't be back.

I don't think Richy was claiming that it was a bad financial decision on Fox's part to bring the show back. He'd personally had preferred it to stay dead and hilarious rather than revived and mediocre, which isn't an unreasonable viewpoint.

I didn't watch the last season of Family Guy, and only about half of the season before that, since I wasn't laughing much, but I'll watch tonight's episode to see if it's any better than when I stopped.

FG's pretty much as good as it's ever been. It's just as not shocking or edgy as it was originally. Unlike shows like South Park the creators have really not tried to reinvent the show's formula much. Southpark still feels fresher becasue they mess with the tone and feel of the show from season to season and even episode to episode. FG has a been there done that feeling to it now.

Are you even paying attention? At no point did I claim his views were unique. I was making a smartass comment because he was saying FG should have stayed dead, even though a lot of people still like the show. His attitude would annoy anyone that still likes the show.

Who, me? I didn't suggest that. I suggested that Fox shouldn't have started making new shows at all.

Now that they are making new shows, and I'm not watching them, I don't really care whether or not they stop making them. It's just one more show in the very long list of shows I don't watch.

In my opinion, Simpsons has been going on for way too long. It's a shitty show, not funny in the least, and generally a waste of air time.

However, other people like it. So meh.
