ETQW running slower than it should?

So for my birthday I decided to buy Enemy Territory: Quake Wars. I thought that since my computer runs Quake 4 alright, it shouldn't have too much trouble running this. The problem is that I have everything on low, and it still runs too slow to play.

Can anyone help in identifying where the problem is? Or is my computer too slow in general?

Specs:
P4 3.0ghz
1 gig ram
80 gig harddrive
Nvidia 6800 GT

Do I need more ram?

Maybe it's just me but I thought ETQW was substantially more advanced and therefore hardware intensive than Q4

And by that I meant that you're looking at a lot of upgrading (video card, RAM, Processor...)

Damn... Maybe an upgrade will have to be a part of my birthday present.

I had a similar problem with my Quadro FX 1500 with two monitors plugged in. With the second monitor enabled it runs like absolute ass, when I disable it, no problems. If you have two monitors, try disabling the second. I have a feeling that a 6800GT should be ok to run it, but otherwise yeah you may need to upgrade.
