I just got a replacement xbox from Microsoft because my second one got the three red lights. Now this one won't recognize disks. I get "open tray"..."reading"...(At this point the laser sounds really sick, it's whirring)..."Open Tray"

I can still play demos and stuff, just no disks

what do I do that doesn't involve a 3 week wait to play Halo again

    a) Buy a new one.
    b) Pretend that Resistance is a better FPS?

    1. Spin the disc on your finger.
    2. Use your eye to read the data side of the disc.
    3. Send data to 360 for processing.

Of course, if that fails, call MS and deal with the turnaround time, meanwhile expressing discontent about your replacement failing.

You need to be firm. Hard, hard and firm.

    Girthy, even.

Really though, call them up and raise hell. Ask to speak to a supervisor immediately. DEMAND a new Xbox before you have to send out your current one (advanced replacement) - even if this means they get your CC info. If they don't comply, threaten contacting the BBB, Consumerist.com, gaming sites, etc.

Get all belligerent and ask for a free copy of Halo 3 too. I'm not sure, but I think most call centers have rules about not hanging up on customers.
