So, I recently bought a D-Link DIR-625 wireless router, and I've had a LINKSYS WMP54GX for almost a year now. Both devices claim to allow data rates up to 108 mbps. How come my wireless connection is 54 mbps, and I haven't figured out a way to get get a 100 mbps connection? I've tinkered with the router for hours, and I still don't know what to do. Am I stupid, or is there a solution?
my apartment looks upside down from there
water spirals the wrong way out the sink
I think it's probably running at half-duplex. I've always had that problem with my Wifi but I never looked into it THAT closely. I suspect it's just a marketing gimmick that let's them say "up to" without reality ever being able to get there.

All 802.11 is "half duplex" since the wireless channel is a 'shared media'.
Anyway, dudes problem is that one device is using "draft N" to claim fast speeds, the other is using "SRX200".
Since those techs won't play together they're falling back to 802.11g (54mbps)
