I used to read R.L. Stein books like crazy back in 4th grade, I think. At some point I realized how truly empty they were and dropped the habit.
On occasion, though, he did have some pretty cool ideas. There was one about a photographer that trapped kids in film by taking their picture. The kids were trapped in a black and white world of nothing. I remember a specific scene where a couple of them discussed dreams; one of them was envious of another, because he could still dream in color.
Granted, the idea was completely wasted on a monotonous, by the books (olol pun) plot and all that, but still, cool idea.
Man I remeber after seeing I think gremlins? The one that takes place in the carnival, and the head honcho for the circus sits down on the toilet and gets his ass bit off, fuck after that anytime I went to the bathroom to drop a deuce I had to flush the toilet before sitting down.
That was Ghoulies II.
Such an awful movie.
