Actually, I have a question. Where did the tradition of closing threads with a comic start? I mean, why? I know these are the comic's forums, so it makes sense to us PA comics to close the threads. But why close 'em that way at all?

I don’t have a ‘rising new star’ for you. I don’t pay attention to new releases unless my friend recommends them, and I don’t care about an artist or group’s popularity.

I’ll offer Regina Spektor and the Decemberists so that I can have an answer of some sort, though they aren’t necessarily representative of what I listen to.

There's nothing inherently wrong with music being really popular, but I can't help but feel like a tool for it.

But, to drop names... I can't think of any. When I went to think of the metal I liked, it was still all from the 90's. Not exactly recent anymore, as surreal as that fact is.

Children of Bodom, even though many of their songs sound so much alike, and their lyrics tend to be generic and shallow.

Opeth, Old Man's Child, Naglfar, etc.
