360 Elite problems...

Ok, so this is my third 360. And something is wrong with it.

I bought the Elite about two weeks ago after returning my Premium when the premium broke.

I've been enjoying Halo 3 on it, but yesterday and today it has been making a weird whirring noise while the game is inside of it. The game also freezes for about three seconds when transitioning between lobby's, etc. This morning, I turn on the console, and I play about three games online and shut it off. Cut to about three hours later, and I turn the Elite on again, and it won't go past the Xbox 360 logo screen, even after 2-3 minutes. I shut it off, and try again. Same thing. Then I take Halo 3 out and it goes to the Dashboard. I put Halo 3 in again after I get to the Dashboard, and it says "reading". It doesn't start the game. It just says "reading", while making that fucking loud whirring noise.

Keep in mind I don't play my 360 for 10+ hours a day. I play it maybe twice a day, for about two-three hours total.

Is my disc tray screwed up? (Halo 3 disc is perfect, no scratches or anything. Same thing happens with Rainbow Six).

And seperately: Can I return my 360 to Best Buy? I have that warranty thing, so can I just return the console for a full refund? I'm thinking of just switching to the PS3. :|

Man, it sucks when some people have such a bad run equipment.

But sorry to say, if it's doing it for all your games, you can try DVD's as well. Other that, it looks like it's DVD drive is going.

2 Weeks should be fine, bring it to BB and exchange it.

if Best Buy gives you shit you can always send it back to Microsoft. 360's have a 3 year warrenty now. Just DON'T DON'T DON'T remove the tamber sticker/seal. Otherwise the warrenty is null and void.

I examined the Halo 3 disc carefully and I now see that there is a small crack in the clear part of the disc in the middle. What do I do? Can I return this? I did not crack this, it has been in my 360 for three days straight.

I bought it from Blockbuster. And Rainbow Six works, by the way. It was a little dirty. Help!

no, the only possibility for disc damage like that would be from placing/removing it from the case or manufacturer defect. The store would hopefully allow you to trade it for the same game. Just make sure to have your receipt.
