connecting my 360

I have just ordered my 360 and am looking at ways to connect my 360 to the internet. The wireless bridge is hideously expensive costing £60. I could get a very long ethernet and hook it up to my router. And in my room there is phone line with a microfilter on it, but there is another point in the house with a master filter on, so I don't know if I can use that. Or can I like use my PC to pass on the internet to the 360?. I had a look at the 360 site, but it was all very confusing.

The way I have my 360 hooked up to Live is through my PC. My PC has a wireless card in it to connect to my router, plus a standard network card. I have a network cable going from my 360 to my PC, then I set up Internet Connection Sharing. Works like a charm.
