Alright, this has been going on for a few weeks and I know something is wrong. It was never doing this before. I have included a pic.

See PC activity? It is CONSTANTLY flashing. Before, it would just stay on, meaning that the internet was not being used. When I was downloading something, it would blink like it does now. Even when my computer is off, it flashes.

When my router is connected to it (no router right now), the router light where my PC was connected would constantly blink aswell.

I have been having problems with STEAM, as in files that I download from it are coming out corrupt and I have never had that problem before. STEAM speeds are odd aswell. Downloads will stall, and just stick there. Before all this, it was hella reliable and all files came out complete.

I live in Canada, Ontario and I have Rogers internet.

Can someone please help me.

Wanted to add that I had reformated about a week ago and this is still happening.

Anything show up if you run a virus/spyware scan?

Your machine may have been zombied.

    EDIT: Missed this:

and the fact you've already re-formatted.

Could be that your modem's just broken. Other than that, I have no idea.

Do you have it hooked up to a wireless router? It sounds like someone is sharing your internet connection with you without your knowledge. Be sure to check your router settings and ensure you have your wireless turned off or encrypted. If you do have it already encrypted, try changing the WEP password.

Nope, its just a normal modem not hooked up to a router at all.

Damnit! I have the same modem and its always done the same thing. So I looked up the manual so I could say it was normal and its damn well not. Now I have a problem too.

Edit: looks like mine's from outside traffic. My router's logging a lot of blocked incoming traffic from random ips. Probably some people out there have virus's on their machines and don't even know it.

I have the same modem, same problem. It's been like this for months too...Maybe I should be worried, but my Wireless is turned off and when my computers are not even connected to the modem, it does this. Usually when I'm gone for more than a day, I just unplug it (incase someone was really connected to it).

I hope nothing is wrong ;p

Chiming in to say that I too have the same modem and the same "problem". No spyware/viruses, no speed loss or anything, I just assumed it was something on Comcast's end.
