Well appearently either my Googlefu is weak or I don't know how to search. Anyway, I am looking for something like a list of Japanese boy and girl names to use for a project. I thought of looking for baby books but came up short. Any ideas on how I could accomplish this or get the information?

for a girl I really like the name Kiyomi. but searches on the internet will just bring you porn.
if you are in high school or college see if there is a japanese teacher there, they would probably be able to tell you a lot of names.

What about this? Third result on google after a "Japanese name generator" search.

So Googling "Japanese baby names" came up with a ton of links.

every person who doesn't like an acquired taste always seems to think everyone who likes it is faking it. it should be an official fallacy.

I've built a random name generator (as part of the thing in my sig) that includes Japanese names and I used this for the source data. The only drawback is that it's just a list, no context or stats are given, so you can't extract a list of common names from it. As I've come to find during my development of the name generator, few governments are as willing to release first and last name frequencies as part of their census data as the U.S. and Canada's.
