[WoW] Oceanic servers maintenance times!

With Tuesday fast approaching, and yet another day where beyond 7pm or so, Australia has no WoW, I decided it was high time to have a bit of a whinge.

If US servers can have their maintenance on their "relatively" quiet periods, why can't Oceanic maintenance be done on Australian downtime?

As far as I know, the Oceanic servers are located in Oceania, so how hard would it be to schedule maintenance then?

I'm tired of having to play DotA on Tuesdays.

    This would be hilariously awesome because my friend plays an Oceanic server, so your "slow period" would be right when he's getting ready to hop on WoW.

    Serves him right :) there's hundreds of US servers, why would even NEED to play on an Oceanic?

    Actually, I'm pretty sure the Oceanic servers aren't located in Oceania, which is why you guys have horrible lag and follow our shutdown schedule.

    Oceanic servers aren't located in Australasia at all. Same place as US servers - this has been a cause of much bitching in the past.

    And I think the theory behind not leaving them up has always been that if you leave 4-5 servers up while bringing the rest down you're just asking for server overload. This argument does of course lose validity now that Blizzard do the staggered downtime thing (assuming they are still doing it - I stopped playing just as they were introducing it)

    I'd rather play on the asian servers.
    Also fun, pvp from Oceania against people from.. Outside Oceania.

    They don't do it every week. Usually at most every other week, and the staggered downtime is only done when the servers are brought down for only a few minutes. The full 6- or 8-hour downtimes aren't staggered.
