I've been meaning to do this for awhile now, I doubt I will get many players due to Hellgate:London coming out shortly, oh well, here it goes.
So let's get started, the people of you who want to play post your xfire names (if you want to) and your Diablo 2 account name/character names.
Last time we played on HC and well needless to say it didn't end pretty. You guys can play on Normal or Hardcore it doesn't matter to me as I will be playing both.
I also thought that we could make an account and put items on the account that we will never use. So if someone joined late or one of us made a new character we would have few items. If we do end up doing this and you place an item on the account consider it gone. I don't want bitching.
I will play on either US East or West. I suggest we wait a little bit and see where the majority want to play and play with them.

I think you should add some pictures to the OP and extol Diablo II's virtues. Maybe you will stir up some nostalgia and get more players.

The last time I took part in a PA Game On for Diablo 2 I had a necromancer made who could raise an army of crazy shit. Mostly meat shields (well, as much as feeble skeletons are allowed; the reviving of monsters was great), but everyone got a kick out of it.

I HAD some characters a while ago, but they are now long gone. I might decide to start one up again, thanks to this thread. >.<
I would play hardcore too if anyone is up for it; that sounds like a lot of fun.
Also; we should all make Pally's with different Auras... that way we would have a BILLIONAZ to all damage, attack, defense, resistance and awesomeness.
Might not be in it long but I'll sure try :P
I'd actually like to do this, but there's no way I'm starting hardcore from scratch for the billionth time. If someone wants to grush me or something, I'll play, but I need a character to farm with because my favorite sorc build is pretty gear dependent and basically impossible to play hardcore without having some early game gear laid out or being useless and whacking trash mobs with a staff while everyone else does all the work.

Last night I jogged my little Amazon through the first few Act 1 Quests. She's going to be Charged Strike + Lightning Fury + Freezing Arrow for lightning immunes. I don't get my main Javelin skills for several levels yet, but we're off to a good start. It looks like her play style will be a little less, well, vanilla than my Werewolf Druid (melee, melee, melee -- with some pets, happily). I'll make a point of being on East at 8PM EST in PA1/wang tonight.
I for one will not be participating in any Hardcore. D2 works astonishingly well with my gimped college internets, probably because it was designed for puny little dial-up modems rather than ginormous broadband lines, but I still lock up and get kicked off the server from time to time. Permadeath under such circumstances would not agree with me at all.
So far I've made a bone necro, avenger, hammerdin and cleric. She has made a strafer, blizzard sorc, necro summoner and frenzy barb. Our equipment mostly sucks since it is a LAN, but we're still having fun. I must admit, I'm kind of regretting having never tried the avenger or hammerdin on battle.net, where I might have been able to equip them decently.

I remember the last time I played I made an amazon who did virtually no damage for the entire game after act 3 and I had to stick with my sorceress friend until we finally got boned by Hell. What a frustrating game.
