Wii Online Difficulties

So I decided it was about time that I hooked up my Wii to the world wide webs, so I went and got one of the Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connectors. Last night my girlfriend set it up and after some difficulty we got it to work. We were able to access the shop, weather, news channels without any difficulty.
This morning when I woke up I decided to check the news but to my surprise, the connection between the Wii and the USB connector was gone. I reinstalled the connector's program to ensure that it was working properly, which it appears to be doing. However, when I attempt to test the connection, I get Error Code: 51340 and am told I am unable to connect to the Internet. I checked the settings for the connection between Wii and the computer and it's set up exactly the way it was last night, so I'm at a loss. I've granted the Wii access and everything, the connection just isn't working out. The only things I can guess would be either that the USB connector simply is too far from the Wii, but it worked perfectly last night and in fact had the strongest signal possible, so I don't think that's it. The other possibility I can think of would be that there's a firewall of some kind up that is preventing the Wii from connecting to the computer, but I'm fairly sure I didn't activate anything of the sort. Help plz?
I was going to ask a question relating to this, so I hope you don't mind if I throw mine in here:
I've been thinking about getting a dongle for a little while now since I found out that I can't connect to my school's wireless router with my Wii or my DS. But apparently they don't work with Vista? Is this universally true for the OS or is it because of some hardware that most Vista-compatible computers have? Also, how does the dongle work? Does it just create an internet force-field of whatever computer's connection it is plugged into? Will that work in bypassing my school's network need to have McAffee installed on anything connecting (which would be quite difficult with a Wii/DS)?

I have tried a couple times but have yet to get my dongle working with vista. I think its more of a case of the drivers being written for XP and Nintendo hasnt updated them to work with vista yet.
If you could get it too work it would probably be ok for your schools system since it just piggybacks on your computers conecction. But I cant say for sure really.

Strangely enough, the WiFi dongle released in Europe has Vista drivers. They are available from this page.
One of the few instances where Europeans get something before those of us in the U.S.

Will those drivers work with a North American dongle or do I have to buy a euro one?
Try it and report back :P
Actually, here is Nintendo of America's driver site for the connector, and they have a 1.0.6 version that was released yesterday that says it has Vista support.

I installed the American version of the drivers and I cant get it too work with either my DS or my Wii. I can set up the connection ok but when I get to the part where it requires a connection test it just dosent want to work for some reason.
So I would say to proceed with caution. And if you can get yours to work with vista than tell me what the hell Im doing wrong.

It might be a firewall problem. You can read this page for information about that.
