Tournament Registration

Reposting this in a seperate thread since it applies to non-console tourneys as well:

So do the 128 day-of slots apply to PC tourneys as well? If I want to register for the Saturday tourneys do I have to show up on Friday? I understand why pre-regs should be allowed first dibs at tourney entry but once the prereg period ended there should be some kind of open registration for everyone else. If I can register now please let me know who to PM, I'm planning on entering Warcraft 3, UT2004, and Guilty Gear X2.

DiscoDave and Fall are running the PC tournies, so PM them any questions regarding those events. As for console tournies, day-of registration is first come, first serve. Once the doors open for everyone, you can enter anything that's still available. Based on the current pre-registration numbers, there will be plenty of room in the Guilty Gear tourney. That being said I cannot guarantee you or anyone else who didn't pre-register a spot until you actually sign up in-person at the Expo.

The 128 day-of-slots do not apply to the PC Tournaments. There are some issues that are outside of my control right now that will determine whether or not we can let additional people into the tournaments. Certainly I would like to, but my primary concern is making sure everything stays on schedule.

Just to re-iterate, how many slots are available starting Friday the 26th depends on how many people signed up online. When I mentioned there were 128 day-of slots left, I was refering to any games that had maxed out the pre-reg cap of 256.

Can you keep the forum up to date or PM me about being able to take new registrations the day of the convention? The only reason I'm going to PAX is for the tournaments and I don't want to show up and not be able to register for them.

I'll bump this thread when I hear something concrete. If you don't hear from me by the end of the week, send me a pm or something.

Any chance of finding out if there's room in the Soul Calibur 2 tournament?

What are these "128 slots", I haven't heard anything... There are quite a few tournaments that I wanted to get into that were full when I pre-registered. These were PC AND Console, and even one tabletop game.

Do I have to try and be there Friday to sign up for a Sunday tournament, or am I ok to come in first-thing Sunday and hope for the best?
