The Tutts are from Auckland, New Zealand and are fucking unreal.
There seems to be a bit of an 80s-ish influence with the keyboard in some songs combined with some good ol' rock which has halted my iTunes rotation to all of 2 songs.
Animal Alpha - From norway, wierd rock band. probably heard this song if you ever played Burnout Revenge. I don't like all their songs, but some are amazing, namely Bundy, IRWYTD and Bend Over. They have a cd on iTunes, only place i've been able to find it.
Dover - Spanish rock band, have been around since 1990. I have 2 of their CDs and both are awesome, but "I was dead for 7 weeks in the City of Angels" is by far my favorite of the 2. Song off it called King George
The Cat Empire - Australian Jazz fusion/reggae/rock band. Amazing. By far one of my favorite bands. Their first CD is my favorite, but they are all really good. Their song "Hello"
Tremblebee - Swedish band, alt rock, kind of jazz. afaik they don't have a record deal, but some of their songs can be downloaded here. Really great female singer.
There's some other less obscure non-american bands i love, like KMFDM and the Living End. Check them both out if you like Industrial or Rockabilly/Punk respectively.

Heh, they are ok and fairly widespread in Australia but I wouldn't exactly rate them as very unique. They are pretty funky, get-up-and-dance-because-some-random-trumpet-is-oh-so-jazzy kinda thing.
e: cwapfobrains are you into much jazz fusion? I went to a jazz festival a couple of weeks ago and I was blown away. Jazz is awesome, but jazz fusion was just so catchy. Unfortunately, most of the bands playing were struggling to break out and mostly unsigned; hence, no EPs or whatever.

Anyone got any ideas as regard to jazz fusion?
I like jazz fusion, but only really have one fusion band's music, and its a local band from my hometown.
i wish i knew of more fusion bands. I've listened to some Weather Report, didn't really like their stuff that much. Maybe i should give it another chance.
There is some decent jazz fusion, but these days that genre is heading into a more Jazz-funk/hip hop direction.
Marcus Miller has a great group, Soulive is great, so is Lettuce and Christian McBride.
I dig early Weather Report stuff, mainly the album "125th Street Congress" which is a lot funkier and less corny than their other albums.
[edit]
How could I forget Miles Davis.
Some of his stuff form the 70's and early 80's is fantastic.
Check out "A Tribute To Jack Johnson" (also if you can, definitely pick up the "Complete Jack Johnson Sessions", "We Want Miles", and "The Man With The Horn".
If you can find them, also get the albums "Live At The Fillmore East" and "Live At The Fillmore West".
Other people will suggest "Bitches Brew", but I don't dig that album as much as the ones I listed above.
Britney Spears - Blackout is good based on the production value alone...
There I fucking said it
It's almost like Timbaland produced it! Har, har, har. Production wise it's a great album but not endearing at all, in fact, it's completely disposable.
I don't really care for The Dillinger Escape Plan, but I must say, the compound signature intro to "Horse Hunter" on their new album is so awesome.

Old Crow Medicine Show. O.C.M.S. is their best album.

You are the first person I've come across that likes Old Crow Medicine Show. Awesome.

I saw them live a couple of months ago.
That was the weirdest crowd. Little kids on up to old folks. Hillbillies and scenesters. And everybody jumping along on the fast tunes. Surreal.
oh jesus fucking hell, my ribs are about to explode
I can't take it anymore
