On "Special Folders" in XP and how they're sorted....

Does anyone know of a way to view them as regular folders, and not as their special forms?

Specifically, I'd want to view "My Music" sorted by date modified. But unless I'm totally missin something obvious, it appears those idiot bastards decided it would be a smart idea to REMOVE that option for you, and instead put in things like sort by "track number". Wonderful.

This has been annoying me for a while, you just sometimes want to quickly select all of your most recently acquired music, you know? But there's just no way that I can tell, from windows explorer to do that, and I'm finally so fed up of it, I'm coming to you, H/A. So do you know of any way, like a registry edit or anything?

view by details, add in whatever columns you want /remove ones you dont, click that column to arrange by that detail

edit: it appears i may have deleted those and replaced them with regular folders by the same names

    a-ha. I found it.

Yeah, there was no "modified" listed either in the sort menu, or in the details bar. I had already tried that. But as I was looking through right now, I just noticed an option in the details bar for "more..." options. clicked on it, and yeah, it has all the options for every single sorting method possible. enabled date modified, and it then appeared in the options for the details bar. THEN I was able to sort by date modified.

A little bit of hokey UI design there, Microsoft. :/

Anyways. Problem solved. Yay. Carry on.
